Always make sure you apply before your visa expires.

I'm presuming you came here on a spouse visa, and if so the earliest you can apply is 28 days prior to the 14/12/2010, which I think is the 17/11/2010. This is of course assuming the rules haven't changed by then.

And using the Nationality Checking Service does not mean your application will be processed any faster. All it means is that there are less likely to be problems with your app...

You don't need an appointment to apply at the Polish Embassy, but they quote 15 working days to issue a visa!

djb123, no, that is not correct. Any legal time in the UK can count, as regards passing the "applicant was physically in the UK exactly 3 years before UKBA receive the Naturalisation applicant" test. I'll take your word for it, it just seems to me visitor and staying long term (ie resident) are not...

it all looks good. Make sure that he was "physically in the UK" 3 years before his application date (date of receipt) and check his absences are under the required numbers (Guidance for Form AN). Didn't think time in the UK on a visitor visa counted. Especially as the form asks "Enter the day you f...

You can apply for an NHS card , but you must show that you are actively looking for work. This means that you will need emails or letters to say that you have interviews scheduled, etc. If you don't have this, then it can be difficult to get your NHS number. Where did you hear that from? You can ge...

The deductions it refers to are the ones that appear on your pay slip - NI, maybe pension, etc. So it's the amount of money that you actually receive from your employer each month.

A budget plan is good. It shows how much your outgoings are. How do you get £1200 for visa fees? If you came here on a spouse visa you would have to pay for the the spouse visa (£515) straightaway, then within 2 years you have to pay for the Life in the UK Test (£33) and ILR (£750). Actually mo...

I agree, that's why I suggested providing a personal budget sheet to show that £93/week would be enough to live on.

Ok, thanks. I know that this isn't an exact science, but just to try to get a feel for things... If the Income Support level for a couple, per week, is £93, then that's just under £5k per annum. Adding £10k per annum for rent gives £15k per annum. So, over two years that's around £30k in total...

As long as they receive your application for FLR by the 11th January you will be ok.

There wouldn't be any problems at all if you sent it by special delivery as late as the 8th January.
