Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks,Dalton for replying. I remember you. We were in the Feb/March 2020 group. I'm in California also. So, your story makes further mystifying what the hold up is on my passport. You received yours in October? I'm green with envy, Yea that is very strange. your documents were received about 2 wee...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

On FB page someone posted article from the Minister of Foreign Affairs stating that they have increased staffing and processed nearly 5,000 applications in October! Glad they finally increased the staff! They are moving along very quickly, but that stat can't be right. They're closed on the weekend...

Re: How long is it taking to get your documents returned?

I got them back the day after receiving my passport card Thanks for answering, how long did it take to get your passport back? I got my passport about a month ago. I actually received my documents back before I got the passport. Passport came a few days later. Depending where you are tho, seems to ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Surely the processing time of 2 years has vastly come down now then? I mean if there is people from Feb 2021 reporting that they are hearing back then by this point it must have come down quite drastically? It seems to have. I was a Feb 2020 applicant, and when I got my cert it was just over 2 1/2 ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Apologies if this has been answered before but I don't see a definitive answer in the thread. My FBR certificate is on it's way to me and I am gathering documents for my passport application. If I use a bank statement as a proof of address, does it need to be an official copy of the statement, mail...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Getting nervous that I missed something, since my documents were received Oct 15, 2020, and seeing December. I know others feel the same way who are probably still waiting from before my dates. It makes me worry that I missed something or they lost it. I’ve checked my junk and deleted messages but ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Yeah, that'd be nice, but no, there's no shortcut. You have to send it back. Ideally, wouldn't it be nice if you could pay for the passport up front with the FBR application fee and get them both done at the same time? Simon Coveney, if you're reading this, here's another way to streamline the proc...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

With the FBR office now processing October applications from 2020, and assuming that they keep up their current pace of review, it seems to me that those of us who submitted out applications and documents in October 2022 could feasibly our applications reviewed and (hopefully) approved in well unde...

It was signed off with a first and last name and the email address was fbrclarification@dfa.ie. Hmmm. They must have changed the process or are testing changes?
