Mulderpf - All I am saying is "if somebody is getting frustrated with recruiters-he has to do more than just sit back and wait for recruiters to do something" Direct recruitment is something which people do not try. It is a very effective mean of getting interviews. Another effective mean of gettin...

When you get the calls from the consultants, do you take down their name and numbers and follow up with them or do you just expect them to get back to you? From experience, you have to hound them constantly. Until the point that they have sent you for an interview, you are just another number and a...

It doesn't sound right. You were told to pay the fine, at the consulate. They didn't know what you were talking about. I suspect if you had a fine levied, it can only be collected at the Greek border and no other country is going to be alerted to it because I don't see any country paying the other w...

Hi. I am going to apply for Naturalisation on 10th August with my husband and child. In the form, it is asking for any other surname that I have been known in the UK. When I came to the UK, I was married and I was on dependant visa. Then I got divorced and applied to HSMP visa and entered into UK a...

Re: Getting a refund from the Border Agency...... concerning

Hi, I'm looking for any advice on this situation. Maybe someone has been through similar? An officer at the agency suggested making a duplicate payment on the day to get us through, and claiming for a refund later on. At a price of £1350 this wasn't an easy decision, but we decided to go ahead. I ...

Re: Direct recruitment sites for various companies

I get fed up with the recruiters. There is more nuisance than help in job search. UK job market has become too inefficient. Employers keep complaining that there is not good enough talent while job-seekers struggle to get to interviews. I think direct applications to companies could be worth a try....

It's a minefield doing anything across borders like that, whether it's renting a house, buying goods or paying for any kind of service. You need to find people who've made similar moves and use the services they recommend. Ams. That's sound advice. Find people who have the same job you want and ask...

You either research it and do it yourself or there are companies who offer various services from incorporating for you and or setting up the other tax stuff that you must have to run the business. I use...

Why are you trying to trick people into phoning you with a UK number? Rather be upfront about your situation. My CV had only my international number on and the location where I wanted to be in the UK with an explanation of exactly when I would arrive and I managed to set up interviews like that. No...
