Re: Residence permit for non-eu national

Thanks for your response. So what is the procedure to apply for a resiednce permit for a non eu national? I presume you want to live there because it is central to two work locations. If that is the case, you need to ask your employer if he can arrange a resident permit for border work situation. h...

Employers are ignorant. They may want more than a certain time left on the a visa but that just isn't practical. You can't renew a permit until one month beforehand so if you have a valid visa you can apply with less than one month left. The issue is can you renew your visa or extend it or continue ...

Hi, my wife got her passport finally today and 2morrow she is travelling. It's been 13 working days since the request. Therefore, if anyone needs to travel urgently, have that in mind, please, and I would suggest that UKBA should write that down in the certificate of application. Also, we tried to ...

Re: Emergency passport

So you are proposing that the OP report it lost to the police, then get an emergency passport, and then apply for a new regular passport? That would be one way to do it. If the poster is in such dire straits that would be one option. Or go directly for a new passport and once back in the UK forward...

Yeah I'm looking for a student visa. I was essentially asking if I could leave now-ish on just my US passport (also submit my visa documents before I leave) and then come back in 60 days (the amount they say it usually takes) just to get it stamped. I realize this means a ticket back and forth just...

When you get the calls from the consultants, do you take down their name and numbers and follow up with them or do you just expect them to get back to you? From experience, you have to hound them constantly. Until the point that they have sent you for an interview, you are just another number and a...

It doesn't sound right. You were told to pay the fine, at the consulate. They didn't know what you were talking about. I suspect if you had a fine levied, it can only be collected at the Greek border and no other country is going to be alerted to it because I don't see any country paying the other w...

Re: Direct recruitment sites for various companies

I get fed up with the recruiters. There is more nuisance than help in job search. UK job market has become too inefficient. Employers keep complaining that there is not good enough talent while job-seekers struggle to get to interviews. I think direct applications to companies could be worth a try....
