In itself, the Australian refusal has no relevance to or bearing on a UK immigration application.

When checking your credibility the ECO may want to ask why your plans for study in Australia changed so quickly to studying in the UK instead, but I'm sure you have your reasons.

You are conflating the rules for several different types of application. I think you would probably benefit from one-to-one professional advice.

Would appreciate if anyone with similar case (tier 4 student general with dependents who are not accompanying you) can share their experience of the whole process. This is entirely normal and common. It does not add any complications or issues to the Tier 4 application. You may be over-thinking it.
