Re: Bank Statement & Devaluation of Currency

See Appendix Finance, paragraph FIN 1.1: FIN 1.1. Where money is held in one or more foreign currencies, this will be converted into pound sterling (£) using the spot exchange rate which appears on www.oanda.com for the date of the application. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigrati...

Re: Graduate Visa (Post study work - PSW visa)

Can you please let me know of estimated time period between filing the application and getting the graduate visa decision so i can leave enough time for processing before my student visa expires. The application portal itself gives the estimated processing time, but you do not need to factor that t...

Re: Graduate Visa (Post study work - PSW visa)

This information will significantly aid me in aligning the submission of my application with my student visa's expiration to ensure a seamless transition. There is no need to align anything. The earliest you can apply is when your university has notified the Home Office of your qualification. The l...

You are confusing two different matters. If she had received a 90-day vignette, she clearly would need to travel to the UK within the 90-day validity of that vignette. However, she has been given a vignette covering her whole stay, because her stay is less than six months. As such, she can travel to...

I think the restriction of the student visa is 20 hours of work per week in term-time, full-stop. That applies whether you are working within or outside the UK. [...] So, yes, working in term-time, whether in the UK or abroad, would be a breach of the terms of the student visa terms. Let's call thi...

I know someone that’s a friend to the affected student. I was just trying to get some clarification about the situation. Given all the variables, and both our distance from the person in question, the best thing is for the student to get one-to-one advice on their current situation and options. The...

If so, and if it is about an employee's right to work, I would strongly recommend getting proper compliance advice from...

Re: UK partner proving funding for non EEA student

That’s where I thought it might land and makes the requirements on partner funding seem somewhat pointless. It's pointless for you, but not pointless in general. It is a very useful provision for students who are applying with or joining their partner who is applying at the same time or who came ea...

Re: UK partner proving funding for non EEA student

I assume in this case the visa application would be rejected and the evidence of funds may need to be provided by my partner themselves or their parents. I agree, but it would be a refusal under the immigration rules not a rejection for invalidity. While there is provision at Appendix Finance FIN 5...

Summary : SW 1.5A. restricts students from switching to skilled worker. SW 26.4A. restricts students from switching to skilled worker dependant. Agree. Although note that Appendix Student has not been amended to restrict a Student from switching to Student dependant, despite it being a "work route"...

Re: Restrictions on switching to work routes from 3pm on Monday 17 July

This may explain it! I guess so, if "another route" includes being the dependant of a worker, although was never mentioned in any of the prior messaging, only "work routes" themselves. Given that dependants have full work rights, I guess it is in effect a "work route". So it means that if a Student...

Re: Restrictions on switching to work routes from 3pm on Monday 17 July

SW 26.4A. is in the dependants’ validity requirements section. I guess its purpose is to also restrict a student’s dependants from switching to the skilled worker route? However, if the applicant is a dependant, then the applicant does not have permission as a student. So, this rule, as it stands, ...

From 3pm today, a Statement of Changes restricts switching from a Student visa into a sponsored work route. No effect on switching to the Graduate visa, just on switching to any other work visa sponsored by an employer. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statement-of-changes-to-the-immigrati...
