Re: General discussion after BC and Passport application

Hi All, I'm enquiring on behalf of my husband who is too "laid back" to bother! He applied for his 1st British passport on 23rd December by SD post. He did check and it was delivered to HM Passport Office plus they also debited the fee. However since then there hasn't been a squeak, no text confirma...

You say that you're currently working, so this will be your proof of exercising treaty rights. A FP can only be applied for outside the UK You only need to show that your economic activity is gainful. I am not aware of an un/official threshold. A RC application from the UK is straightforward provide...

Have you posed your question to the NL embassy? Surely they'll be the best placed to confirm what documents they are able to accept for a Schengen visa application.

I think Fysicus' intention was not to encourage the use of deception or lies but to reassure you that there will/should not be any issues re-entering the UK in any capacity - especially as you both have rights of residence - such that it is irrelevant what reasons you present to the IO at the border.

Checkpoint Charlie is worth visiting, but it's not a bar/dinner.
I see Vinny beat me to it! Check your private messages.

Look forward to reading how you fared at the border.

As your partner will be meeting you at the airport, I believe that your passport and CoA should suffice.

You can also ask the IO to contact your partner if s/he isn't entirely happy (though I do not see why they would not be).

Will your EU partner be in the UK when you return? If so then maybe a good idea to have them meet you at the airport in case the IO needs to speak with them. However, as you have a CoA confirming your application for a RC, and provided you have proof of the r/ship (e.g. bills, joint tenancy agreemen...

Isn't there a way of just getting in if the ukba has our marriage/his RC on file? Otherwise we'll be up all night with me going to and from the airport... I believe that the UKBA officers will at least have access to your husband's RC on the system. I do not think you will have any major hassles ge...

Perhaps your wife should consider switching employers to one who pays employees' NI and tax as well as issues monthly P60s. This will ensure a hassle free process in proving that she is in credible employment in the eyes of the authorities.

A class 1A stamp is issued at the port of entry where a non-EEA family member presents themselves at a UK border, is accompanying their EU spouse but doesn't have a EEA family permit to hand. Neither makes a difference in that the non-EEA family member has the same rights of residence in the UK (pro...

I think it is quite useful to have 'real time' information about the most recent applications . I applied for my passport on the 21/06 and I find it very useful to know how people that applied just before me are getting on. Myself I have just been editing my original post without unnecessarily floo...

Just include the information you know of (regarding your parents) and explain in the explanatory notes section that they were deceased in your youth and you do not know their dates of birth.

This should be no problem as your claim to British citizenship is via naturalisation and not descent.

You will need to send your BRP with your passport. Why do you think it is a requirement to send your current passport with your application. Do you think they need your passport to decorate their desks, they need it to verify your visas and if possible to cross-check it with HO. I will therefore ur...

Up to you. As CR001 said, the NCS has an advantage of you keeping all your originals. If you're not too fussed nor have any immediate travel plans then apply yourself using a SD service. I will advice that, if you go postal, you also include a self addressed and prepaid SD return envelope for the re...

This might be confusing for some people if, like me, they already held several passports since first residing in the UK.

In my case I provided all three of mine and was told my the PO check and send agent to include my PR document which had been issued on an ISD.
