It is reassuring to know that those who have a degree taught in English and had taken the LIUK test pre-Oct. '13 have no additional hurdles to skip over or extra expenses to incur. The journey is time and financially intensive enough I feel.

Your colleague who is a banker - have you both worked closely enough together such that they can vouch for you in a personal capacity? If so then make them your personal referee and the nurse your professional referee. thanks Plum70, but my question is more about the referee who is a professional. ...

Dudu, you may not apply for PR confirmation before applying to naturalise.

P60s covering the 5 year qualifying period of your choosing should suffice.

RRH, for your entry into IT or DE to be entirely hassle-free (from an immigration stand point), you would need to either be (1) travelling with your husband or (2) joining him. If you wish to go ahead of him then you will need to satisfy the authorities on what basis you wish to independently enter ...

You must not have been absent from the UK for more than 90 days in the last year, but absences of up to 100 days may be disregarded. See here.

I am not sure whether you can use the period of holding ILR from 10 August 2012 - 10 August 2013 only...

Re: how is the approval letter worded?

Hi all, Just wonder how do they word the approval letter for bc? can some share a copy of course after hiding private information just to look out when we get it? First of all, it comes in a brown envelope which needs to be opened first. On retrieving the contents, they will have to be read (and un...

Re: Pregnant and want to get married a failed asylum seeker

So I dont think it will be such a great idea raising a child and live in a country with war, poverty and chaos. I was raised for most of my growing years in many cities in Nigeria and don't recall being close to starvation or death. Do not be tempted - irrespective of what your boyfriend said - to ...

Tarpon, you will need to be deemed resident and exercising treaty rights (self/employment, studying, self-sufficient, job seeking e.t.c.) in the UK for over 6 months per year for your wife to have the right to reside with you in the UK. Simply hopping in and out neither qualifies as residence nor ex...

In reality you can rarely ask abstract questions like that. I'd say 'hypothetical'. That said, I did have a lovely conversation with some German border guards who were just starting work at the airport. The UK Border guards are generally pleasant (with me) and imagine, if asked clear questio...

You can still test using your old passport and pull out the red passport if this doesn't work (although this might irritate the IO). This is actually a wonderful way of testing implementation of free movement law. Because you always know that you can produce the member state passport if the border ...
