did you have to pick it up from the post office or was it sent to your house? I think i will have to pick up mine from the post office bec my degree is enormous. i had to use the largest envelope i have ever seen

No, I did not get my passport back. I am going to wait 2 weeks from the 10th Oct (when my case got assigned to a CW) before I call them.

When was your case assigned to a CW?

madihi11 - I'm sooo excited to hear that you are getting your things back!! I applied on the 16th of Sept as well and am switching from WP -> Tier 1. I decided before i applied that if i did not get my visa in 4 months time i would just withdraw it because I only intend to stay in London until next December.

Deducted: 16 Sept
WP > Tier 1

I hope i get my visa before xmas so I can resign immediately and not be left behind in cold London when everyone goes holidaying in France for xmas :(

hey grant, thanks for the info but I am really confused now :( But not to worry, I am going to 'train' myself to not think about anything for at least 2 weeks.I've been on the comp all day looking at visa stuff which is really unhealthy :( I

that may also explain why Sept applicants are getting their documents back and May/June applicants are still waiting as they are at the END of the old hsmp queue

grant - from my understand tier 1 and hsmp (before 30 June) are processed differently, therefore the processing time is different If you applied before 30 June your case is getting processed with the 'old' hsmp visas, therefore in theory your waiting time is longer because there are cases from the b...

someone on trackitt with applied within the UK on the 9th of Sept said that they got an email from their case worker saying that the decision has been made and that his/her documents will be sent out. The case worker did not let him/her know the results but its good to know that they are starting to...

i think i read some in the documents that they will wait 4 weeks to verify a document. Someone can confirm or unconfirm that.

Mine was allocated on the 10th Sept

i think they only contact your employer if they have reason to question your payslips or employment. I don't think they call EVERYONE'S employer as that would probably be in thousands

have you got a friend who owns a business. Maybe he/she can write you an job offer letter and you can ask for urgent treatment. Might not work but i would give it a try.

If you are on a tier 1 visa, how many months are you allowed to be 'out' of the UK. I'ld like go back to Australia and France for a few months when/if I get my tier 1.
