@ John yes i was in UK but i had overstayed my visa by about 4.5years. Had to go back in my country 30th sept 2008 got married and got back in UK two weeks later 14th Oct, 2008. Have i answered your query

I did use the purple book and another one by Bernice Walmsley (Pass The British Citizenship Test). With the later book i found it quite easy to read and revise.
