I guess you are asking a qustion for which the answer is so clear in the guidance. You can not claim that as your salary. If you are reiumbursed a part of that unused 1400 GBP, then that would be reflected in your payslip and you can claim it as earning. I understand that you do not like the answer ...

akash08, Are you saying that HO is right? because I feel the case worker went a bit too far by saying that I have to be physically present for the WHOLE duration of the job. the least I will expect is a pro rata. I do not know about split etc.. But the requirement to be physically present to use up...

it is extremely clear that you have to be physically present overseas to apply uplift ratio on overseas earning. There is absolutely no ambiguity.

As long as you are providing required explanation for each document, a cover letter is never required.

I doubt that the case worker enjoys or have time to read such lengthy cover letter.
