For the record, what the HO are looking for there is the case reference number from any previous application you have made along your route to citizenship. When you made a previous application for a visa or for ILR, it would have been on any letter that you received from the HO regarding it. As ment...

There is no clear evidence for any faster processing due to using the NCS, nor should there be. The reasons for using the NCS are not related to speed of processing at the HO compared to any other method. The two main reasons are: 1. The NCS checker should proof read your application carefully and m...

For approvals, we've had two 'outliers'.

Pqek (HO received Oct 29th)
dsds (HO received Oct 25th)

Other than those two nobody else in the forum has reported an approval whose app was received later than Oct 22nd. About half the posters who reported HO received Oct 22nd have reported approval.

MattSule wrote:Has any November applicant seen their money/fee taken by HO?
I have 46 November applications in my spreadsheet and not a single one has had fees taken yet. The HO is for the moment still immersed in the Oct 21-26 week. A lot of people from Oct 25th haven't had their fees taken yet either.

That's really tough regarding the financial threshold, but there is no obligation for him to declare what his future intentions are when he makes his BC application, other than simply stating which country he plans to live in afterwards, to which he should simply answer UK. He cannot be held to acco...

No action at all on November applications yet. From this forum we've had one fee deduction that we know of from an application received by the UKBA on October 29th, other than that it's all Oct 25th or earlier. Hopefully late next week or the week after we'll start to see fee deductions for November...

That's what i was thinking myself but then what would be the point of having a nationality checking service? You get to hang onto your passport. That's reason enough for a lot of people, particularly those who have gone through 6 month+ timeline experiences for earlier visas where they had no choic...

Moderators, I think it would be good to have a Sticky about the English requirement at the moment. There are so many posters with questions around this.

@keepsim this post may be helpful for guidance re: IELTS

Yes, your common sense is correct. You are covered for 1, but you need to have something for 2. Point 2 is the new KOLL requirement that came in on October 28th, so it wasn't around at the time you got your ILR.

Congrats UKnow! I've been following your timeline with interest as our paths have been very similar [we both went for EEA PR at the same time as well last year]. I have a bit longer to wait, but hoping for approval in January. Merry Christmas/Frohe Weihnachten

The NCS should normally send your application special delivery and they should be able to give you the tracking number for the special delivery envelope they will use for your application. Make sure you ask them for that at the appointment.

I believe that would do the job. If you wish to reduce risk, you can apply first for PR Confirmation using form EEA3 (£55) using your evidence for the first 5 years. It will take 2-3 months to get a decision. If granted, you know that your evidence is acceptable by the European department of the HO...

Thanks Amber. So that sounds like potentially a less strict interpretation of the good character requirement than what is applied to a naturalisation application. All the same, it would be good to hear of any practical experience of someone applying with form EEA3 (or EEA4 for that matter) while an ...

PR is automatic, you do not have to apply for it, so there would be no declaration to the Home Office. I know that PR is automatic, but why do you think anybody makes an EEA3 application? There are reasons for needing proof of PR, e.g. for demonstrating your settled status in order to assist your f...

It's pretty clear cut with regards to a BC application, however the question here is more about the application which you are planning to make now, which is not BC, it's EEA PR (EEA3). If you were able to obtain your proof of EEA PR, then chances are that by the time you got to applying for BC you m...

You only have right of abode as a Commonwealth citizen if you qualify under the rules given here. Right of Abode doesn't apply to EEA nationals, whose rights are outlined separately under the EEA regulations.
