Thanks zackeea2!
I've copied your response to the European Enquiries contact centre sticky above where we are trying to keep track of latest phone/email/fax.

EEA4 application sent: July 4th Proof of Special Delivery: July 5th COA: ?? PR: ?? Since it's been two months I called the UKBA today. They confirmed that the application was received but the lady stated that her database can only show detailed information on applications more than 6 months old, so ...

Do you mean it's 10 months since the PR was received or 10 months since you applied for it? Point is that EEA4 is recognition of 5 years of treaty rights, so you if you are successful with EEA4, your year of PR starts from when you claimed you reached your 5 years, not from when you actually receive...

londoner, have you rung the European Applications contact number and explained your situation? They may well be able to counsel you about what your chances are of your wife's self-employed status being accepted. Obie is right that there is a chance it could go your way, but I suspect it will hinge o...

Yeah, inline with the above my advice is don't put yourself through EEA4 because you'll get refused based on the information you've given us so far, but you should be fine for EEA2 as long as you arrange CSI before you apply and send the insurance policy with your application. Going forward if you w...

Does your spouse have an EU ID card additionally to her passport? If so, you could consider applying for EEA2. She would have to hand in her passport but could still travel home on her EU ID card. For you, though, I guess you'd have to wait for the application to be processed before travelling to vi...

Congratulations all for theirs RC. I hit the 5 month mark today. Haven't called or emailed the HO. Do you guys think I should? I suggest not to call until you hit 6 months - unless you have a particular urgent reason for needing your passport back earlier than that. After 6 months it's fair game. Y...

There seem to be two different fax numbers in this thread:

0151 213 1514

and

0151 213 29 09

Can anyone confirm which is correct?

Thanks Vinny! Actually this ruling raises a point that really concerns me. If we try to claim that my wife was 'economically self-sufficient' at the time, they could argue that she wasn't because she was relying on my income during the period that she wasn't working, and this ruling seems to say tha...

Thanks for that. My concern was based on this line in DIRECTIVE 2004/38/EC: 3. For the purposes of paragraph 1(a), a Union citizen who is no longer a worker or self-employed person shall retain the status of worker or self-employed person in the following circumstances: (b) he/she is in duly recorde...

EEA4: Jobseeker or self-sufficient?

Hi all! Grateful already for the information out there on this site. I am looking forward towards an EEA4 application. It's still a couple of years away, but I want to make sure we've covered ourselves. My wife (the EU citizen) has been employed from Feb 2006 to late March 2007 and then June 2007 th...
