I stand to be to corrected, but I think TWES work permits do not count towards ILR qualifying period. Sorry, yeah I have been reading a bit more about the TWES and I think you could well be correct. In this case abo_loai, was the WP issued for 5 years with this year being the 4th and next the 5th a...

Re: Link -> Transitional Arrangement A

I mean maximum 5 years. Then you have ILR or can apply all over. Now I have seen the bit you mentioned. So yes it seems you will not need to show English ability unless your WP is multiple entry.

Yes this is all legal on the UKBA's side. What he did wasn't. His application for BOC will no doubt see hurdles now! He was an illegal entrant and regardless if he is entitled to BOC he still absconded!

Under T2 your employer will need to be registered with the UKBA in order to issue with a sponsorship certificate. So, hopefully they have registered.

If you WP expires before T2 launch then you can apply under existing WP rules or leave the UK and apply under T2 when it is launched.

Changes to ILR and Citizenship

I have seen a few questions relating to the new rules coming up with regards to ILR and citizenship. It appears the ILR will be scrapped to an extent and you will technically only be a temporary resident for up to 6 years. Then after that you will be eligible for permanent residency or citizenship. ...

Hi Shahaan,

You have failed to provide the original and relevant documents to the ECO. This is stated in your refusal notice.

The refusal in this case was justified. My guidance to you is if you wish to apply again then ensure you submit all the documents as required by the authorities.

Thanks for your response. The best I can do at the moment is to buy a house in the UK. Also, my wife and son are with me in the UK. Will this help? No, buying a house will not help and unless your wife and son remained in the UK during your absence neither will that. As stated by Paul, significant ...

Hi, I do not think you can apply for ILR at this point as you have been out of the UK for more than 450 days - as you have realised. However, there is an exception to the required residency period if you have been outside the UK for over 450 days. To my knowledge the exception is if you can show sig...
