Re: I lost my BRP decision letter

I think you'll only need to prove who you are - if you are the BRP holder then they'll release it to you. If you lost the letter so be it - these things happen.

Re: Paid for 3 year visa have 5 year visa - hey?

They've given you a visa valid to 2020 - so there's no need to try and extend in 2018. If you do they'll look at you like you're mad. Go with what they've given you.

Re: Simultaneous Paid Engagement visa and 5-year visitor vis

Ha! That is typical Home Office! Absolutely crazy. In that case the original poster had better ask the High Comm or consulate whether they can undertake a PPE on their current visitor visa. If not then I suspect they're likely to cancel the engagement rather than get a 1-month visa which cancels a 5...

Re: Simultaneous Paid Engagement visa and 5-year visitor vis

My opinion is that technically he needs another visa because the current visa is not PPE, it's a general visitor. He should be sure to request along with his new visa app, that his old visa remains uncancelled. I don't think it's normal practice to cancel a visa due to issuance of a different catego...

It would seem you can be an employee. They would seem to be options listed. You certainly don't have to be a company director; that would be a very small minority.

Re: 30 day vignette

I'm afraid this system of issuing a visa valid only for 30 days is a total disaster - it has led to so many problems like this. It's also misleading in that the stamp in the passport only covers 1 month, when in fact the person may have the right to be here for several years. A total farce.

Yes, keep a copy of the second BRP but send it to them and clearly state that you think you've been sent this second BRP in error.

Re: Processing Time for Sponsor Licence Renewal

The Authorising Officer at the sponsor's office IS sent at least 2 (possibly 3) reminders about imminent sponsor licence expiry, starting several months from the expiry date. Some sponsors don't keep their AO details up to date, so the AO may have left the company and the UKVI are not aware so they ...

Re: PPE (Paid Engagement Visa) question

I agree with Casa. It's for 1 entry only. But you can use the PPE route more than once, of course - as long as you have the right documents for each trip and no trip is longer than 1 month. Remember, if you're a non-visa national you are not obliged to get a visa in advance of travel - you can show ...

Email the Business Helpdesk if you haven't already - they can nudge the caseworker who handles the requests. If you have a band or something you need to issue CoS to urgently give them details and stress the urgency.

Log into the SMS to create the CoS - it will become obvious. There is a field for hours per week, a field for salary and a field for allowances.

Re: AWAITING ANUAL COS? MAKING ME NERVOUS!

Lately it has been taking longer than usual, and I have had to complain about that for 4 different clients. The 18-week quoted service standard is totally unacceptable for such a simple process, in my opinion. They processed a bunch of allocation increase requests over the last 5 days, suggesting th...

Re: TIER 2 SPONSOR

A "premium" sponsor is no higher rated than an A-rated sponsor. Premium purely means they have paid extra to the UK government in an attempt to get quicker handling of their CoS allocation requests/renewals. Like almost everything else in this current government there is a route for everyone (let's ...

Re: COS sponsor maintenance error

They could make a sponsor note on the SMS to say that they DO certify maintenance and they forgot to tick the box. If this is done before the visa is applied for the visa officer should take it into consideration.

Personally I think you're applying too early anyway - I was told if you apply more than 2 months before the current leave expires they can reject for applying too early. Crazy, but there you go. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Your sponsor should call the UKVI's Helpdesk about this. Re-issuing the CoS might be a problem due to CoS allocation, cost etc.

Re: Sponsor licence suspended: How likly it will be revoked?

Generally the company would either have its licence revoked, or be imposed an action plan at a cost to the company. If an action plan is imposed, there will be time for that to be met, if the sponsor then meets the requirements of the action plan (they may well get a second visit to check thios) the...

Re: Tier 2 General visa extension - Confused with the SOC co

Look at the codes of practice. The SOC code should most closely match your actual job. The codes are done to try and cover all jobs - the sponsor should choose the one that most closely matches your job. What skill level that code holds will be listed in the codes of practice for each industry secto...

Re: Renewal Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa

I don't do in-country applications so I'm not the best person to answer, but it used to be that any app made in-person at a PEO had to be made within 4 weeks of the expiry, and a rule of thumb was that postal apps couldn't be made more than 6 weeks in advance. Sorry I can't be more specific about th...

Re: Delay in collecting BRP card

This just goes to show how misguided it was of the government to just issue the visas for 30 days, not the full length of the stay the holder has been granted. If the visa in the passport echoed the BRP then this wouldn't be a problem. I'm sorry you're being affected by this. It's a disastrous system.
