Actually Jambo, I raised this point (Vinny) confirmed it.
However, when I read the thread again I noticed that JAJ wrote that SA citizenship for thr child who was born outside SA would need registration.
If so, the child would be stateless at birth.

Question for Bafarm - I beleive you and your wife acquired your British citizenship (by decent) at birth - no? If so, why do you believe that you have lost your SA citizenship? I though that SA citizenship is lost only if you take (without prior permission) another citizenship later on in life.

All the "earned" or "probationary" citizenship stuff from 2009 has been dropped by the coalition government. No worries about that anymore. No changes are currently in the horizon for naturalization. They actually now started a consultation on the family path (spouses etc.) in order to possibly incr...

I don't know anyone personally but there are many in this forum who were in this situation. Start searching for previous threads and you'll uncover many in your or a siniliar situation.

My personal opinion is that you have a good chance since your offence is really minor.

I don't think that based on what you described you have a Fixed Penalty. If you didn't go to court it would have stayed an FP. However, now it seems to be a court conviction and is such will take 5 years to be spent. There issome risk your application will be turned down but I have seen many who wer...

Don't think your friend's father was British citizen at the time your friend was born. If that was true, and unless special circumstances, most cypriots could have been British citizens, which is of course not true. The key here is whether your friend's father had the right to abode in the UK in in ...

First, no one will neutrelize you, at best you'll get naturalized :) Points on you license don't matter. If you had no fine in court but only a fixed penalty (or not even that)- you should be fine unless you have another fixed penalty in the last 12 months because you are not allowed to have 2 or mo...

This is all still in the consultation stage. Legislation, if any, is not expected before April 2012. It will take months to know the details and the transitional measures, if any, for spouses already in the UK

If you carry your naturalization certificate with you (aloig with your passport) I think you can get away in the EU line and without filling in a landing card although technically the que is for ...

Were the children born after you recieved ILR or before?
If they were born after, then once you leave the UK you won't be able to apply for British citizenshipfor them anymore.
Also, once they are British citizens they loose their Indian citizenship, as far as I know.

Yes. It appears that you have a criminal conviction since you didn't pay your original fine and had to be referred to and convicted in court. You have to declare this conviction if you apply for naturalization and you stand a risk of being turned down (and losing your application fee). It is a minor...
