Thanks KZN. The strange thing is that they were waiting for garda clearance in january when I rang them. That was the only outstanding check. But when I rang them again this week, they said they're waiting for outside agencies... and they said 'don't worry about' and it may take another 6 months may...

it takes 6 months and you can apply after 5 years married to eu spouse Hi Permenant residency is either by stamp 5 or 6. I believe EU Family members will fall under stamp 5 not 6. Only after naturalisation, they can get stamp 6 if they want (optional). Please correct me if I am wrong http://www.ini...

Yes I think that too. But these are the very jobs that Irish people do not go for. They need others to do such jobs for them (mostly from non EU and eastern europe)

Hi Zafar I am absolutely in your side in this. I carry the same feeling. We can consider all these measures in Ireland as "institutional beloved" by the irish government directed towards the non EU who are mostly professionals except the very rare. I knew of groups of non EU professionals ...

Hicham I understand your situation. If you are really worried about them not giving you a visa in agadir if you argue with them about the visa fees then I suggest you pay them (although this is unlawful) BUT keep the receipt. When you arrive and settle in Ireland, send a cover letter with a copy of ...

It is a very simple procedure. Send the application form (on INIS website - only one page to fill) with your passport, your wife's passport and the marriage cert. to the Re-entry visa section in Burgh quey. It will take 3-4 days and you will receive all documents by registered post. Visa will be iss...

Re: thanks

Then I guess you should explore a way to change your stamp to Work Permit Holder (and this may suit you as you aire in a full permanent emplyment). Try to ring (anonomously) INIS and enquire about that. Time is in your side so don't panic. All the best of luck thanks for your advice. but i did not ...

Well done.. This is a good lesson all of us (spouses of EU/Irish) should learn but I doubt if we can stand to immigration officers at Dublin airport everytime we pass through. they seem to employ the thickest people there. As for myself (Spouse to Irish), I've always joined the Non EU queue without ...

If they still insist that you "personally" know the Solicitor, then I agree it is pretty crap. If they at least allow the 2nd option, i.e. someone who knows you will vouch for you to a solicitor they know, then you should be ok. Most longer term residents would have had contact with a sol...

Re: Naturalisation of Spouses to Irish Citizens

Regarding the Solicitor personally knowing you, I'm not sure that this is still currently the case. The current Citizenship application form has a place where a solicitor must witness your signature, but they have the option of choosing ticking any of the following options, which do allow for if th...

I've never had any reason to come in contact with any solicitors. AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH That's right. yo...

I'm in a very similar situation here and it's causing me a lot of hassle to travel to the UK and Europe at the moment. I even had to turn down a promotion recently, which would have meant that I would have to travel worldwide..I would have spent most time queuing at embassies if I did accept. As yo...
