Re: British citizenship for self but not for child

Hello...As per Indian constitution and "Indian citizenship act " which is still valid, the moment you loose indian citizenship, all your children will loose indian citizenship. Another point, is Indian citizen act, is still patriarchal, meaning, even if your wife choose to remain Indian citizen, whe...

deed poll for name change for BC application

Hello, I wish to apply for name change before BC application. I've been told that I should get Deed poll by NCS.

Have anyone for deed poll before? Can we use the one from online or does it need it to done in front of a solicitor or commissioner of oath?

Thanks

This may not be related to the question here, but a good guide for others. Found this chart title "A comparative chart" from http://mha.nic.in/foreigDiv/OCI.html This clearly explains the advantages/disadvantages of NRI/PIO/OCI status. Quite important to note is that on Economic/Financial/Educationa...

I believe thats the normal procedure, when you get naturalisation and British passport, we need to surrender the indian passport. Doesn't his mean renouncing Indian citizenship? Thanks Agreed, but when I go for naturalisation, I need to formally renounce India nationality by procuring a surrender ce...

Agreed, but when I go for naturalisation, I need to formally renounce India nationality by procuring a surrender certificate. So, either way one would come under Section 8 of renunciation and would affect their children;s indian nationality, even though they didn't apply for BC. Pls comment if my in...

Qualifying period for BC

Hi All, As per the standard requirements for applying BC, its stays that one must be in UK for 5 years before the date of application.

Does this mean, I'm eligiblible for applying (I got ILR in July 2011, after entering UK in JUn 2006, I have completed 5 years in UK)?

Re: Premium fee Payment - Urgent

Not sure about what you are asking..The best and only possible way to contact your bank if you decide to pay by Debit card...In some banks like HSBC etc., the maximum limit without security check is £5000. I would suggest to call the contact center of the Bank again, and and ask them to put a note ...

I agree that it shouldn't matter, but the last time when I mentioned it, they said that they can't provide details for visa purposes. I had to wait for a month and then request again without mentioning VISA, it got it in under 2 weeks...so, just based on my own personal experience, i had replied... ...

Contact HMRC to get last 5 years payment received, tax deducted and NI payed. This should be fine. While contacting HMRC, do not mention that you need it for Visa purposes. This seems to be perfect answer..Also, another point, if you see your ILR stamping, it would just say 'Indefinite Leave' - doesn't say partner or dependent. It won’t affect your ILR status. However - if you apply on the basis of marriage you need to be in country for 3 years to qualify but if you ...
