it exactly says VISA EEA FP: TO JOIN SPOUSE/OP
When does it expire? Is it the same as a 5 year Residence Card...Family member of EEA national? If so, you would qualify for PR.

You need to have A passport in order to apply. If you qualify for an Irish, get one and apply under EEA route as it seems to be an easier route. If not, you can apply under UK route. It makes little difference. The hard part in both cases is proving that your relationship is genuine.

It is required that you provide an ID confirming your partner's nationality. How else would they know that she is eligible?

Aladin. UKBA is now obliged to provide you with a decision, since 6 months have passed. Keep calling them everyday, perhaps even 2-3 times a day, until they resolve it.

You should have given a full description of your case from the start. If your description is vague and incomplete, so will be the advice. You were asking how to deal with it, when you had already dealt with it.

Didn't they write anything on the covering letter as of why?

Contact UKBA by phone to enquire. If they won't give you a satisfactory explanation, then write to them.

Jambo. I dont quite get it. Doesn't the PR prove that one's status has already been confirmed? My residence card (the first one) is on my old passport. Are you saying that if I submit my old passport and the new one with the PR on it I won't need to provide any other proof certifying those initial 5...

So, in reality, the PR will serve as proof without additional documentation. I got the wrong idea from the previous posts. Cheers Jambo.

Ok. So I read around, and it doesn't seem to make any sense. By issuing a PR, UKBA confirms permanent residence. But then again, when applying for naturalisation one must provide proof for all 6 years. AGAIN? Haven't I done that already for the first 5 years?! What's the point? Can anyone please pro...

Lets hope you won't have the same problems that spike_uk had, regarding 5 years marriage. It should indeed help a great deal the fact that your husband has a PR already. From personal experience, I think that all EEA application processes are extremely unpredictable, many times for factors beyond ou...

Another option would be to apply instead for a visitor visa in Greece or any other UK embassy. The wife has been refused a spouse visa. How could an application for a visitor visa with that background be successful? Everyone's circumstances are different. Applying for a visitor visa is easier becau...

Another option would be to apply instead for a visitor visa in Greece or any other UK embassy. Then once she is in UK, she can apply for a residence card using EEA2 form. Perhaps your family could provide an invitation for that purpose. You see, once you get refused, you must present additional docu...

About proving your residence....Since one is granted PR, like myself, I assume that there won't be a need to prove those 5 years again. Will I only need to prove the last year? (say Sept 12-Sept 13) You need to prove those years. However, proving residence for naturalisation is normally satisfied b...

Your friend needs to hire a solicitor to represent him. The case is complicated. Without being able to prove that his wife exercised Treaty Rights for 5 years, and common residence it will be extremely hard, expensive and lengthy.
