1. Try to register again for login/password - make sure to check your spam/junk mail folder (my letter with login details was filtered to spam by GMail). If it does not work, try another e-mail address. Also remember that they don't send registration details immediately - I got mine the next day. 2....

This new bill is really scary! Looks like it is supposed to prevent things like HSMP JR and effectively replace entire immigration law with single wildcard law that basically tells that Home Office can change immigration rules entirely on it's own with minimal participation of Parliament. The good n...

In Portugal civil partnership is possible for opposite-sex couples too.

Definitely no clue about # 3 but again would like to think why not? It's your company, you're doing business under it, and as long as you're able to show your sustainability from it, then why not? Obviously it may not be as easy as being in permanent employment to show proof of this but surely not ...

I probably should point out that I actually hope to have an actual company with clients and (hopefully!) profit - I was going to launch it anyway, but unemployment seems to force me to do it 1 year early.

Unemployed, setting up own company - ILR

I'm on HSMP, subject to HSMP JR I can apply for ILR in February 2010 However I was made redundant in July and still unemployed. Now I'm thinking of setting up my own company so I can sell some bits and pieces of intellectual property I've accumulated over the years. The questions are: 1. Can I still...

Approvals based on 3 months payslips is no longer happens for HSMP. By the way, is there any source for this information? Surely such a huge change would be announced somewhere? If I understand correctly, you should submit P45s that your employers sent to you when you left them in 2008 and 2009. Co...

What if someone does not have some P60s?

In my case I entered UK (on HSMP) in March 2006, I got two P60s in April 2006 and 2007, and no P60s in 2008 and 2009 as I was unemployed at the end of the corresponding tax years (in both cases I started new employment literally a week after that).

HSMP, lost job - what about ILR?

Well, on Thursday I lost my job (I was made redundant) :( I'm eligible to apply for ILR (under the terms of HSMP JR) in February 2010. So far since February 2009 I earned 29000 pounds (before tax) - do you think this will be enough for ILR? I do hope to find something else until February, but the ma...
