thanks for your reply much appreciated. I initially wanted to apply at belfast where i live but decided against it and decided to apply at places like croydon or shefield where I guess they would be a bit better experienced regarding JR cases i.e not needing LIUK, no point based etc. keeping fingers...

thanks again guys for the advise, but I believe caution is different from conviction and it is indeed covered under the rehab of offender(unless its a caution which is conditional for extreme violence/sexcharge/drunk driving/driving without insurance or foreign licence) here is the link from the off...

I don't knowif i should treat this news as good or bad, I was granted hsmp in oct 2006 so was covered by JR for PR in 2011, but I guess this new declaration changes everything again..............:( only if I can spend 11 more months till they decide to change the rules again!

exactly! that was the point also made to me over the phone when i called up(see prev post) and thats why they said pre nov 06 hsmp has a so called reasonable expectation as we did not sign anything like this

i know what you mean........but that guy seemed to know wht he was talking about............maybe when we get the letter by post it would be more confirmatory........but i still do feel tht things are nowhere as bad as wht it seemed initially for hsmps so yes still i am more relaxed!

oh sorry guys forgot about one thing.........that guy from home office also said that all HSMPs who are covered for ILR and naturalization under old rule would be sent a letter by post "soon enough(??!!)" to inform them about a tentative date for qualifying for ILR, when I asked that in my last hsmp...

similar thing happened to me and they gave both me and my wife as police caution(at the police station) so I am very anxious abt it aswell. I am a bit surprised they took the issue to court for you unless there was something else

you have got it wrong winber.........L plate might be itself fixed penalty.........but driving without L plate when u need to means you r driving unlicenced and that automatically invalidates ur insurance WHICH is a non-minor offence so indirectly the OP commited a major offence and got his applicat...
