Most governments of the world probably don't consider deffered or delayed tax payments as 'minor'. Those taxes pay that government's existance.

Re: Refused British Citizenship on spent minor offense

*Edited* Just over a year ago my British Citizenship application was refused without any specific reasons given why my application was refused, I had to submit a request for internal review (reconsideration) at an extra cost of £272. Again my application was refused but this time with little detail...

What is the best thing to do now. If the self employement ID was not genuiine, the best thing to do is leave the country and forget about the UK. If it was genuine, challenge the decision by all means available to you. Don't worry about any further visas or anything else, just clear your name. Once...

You should consider asking a moderator to move this to the Tier 1 E section. Especially since posters over there might not ever visit the General section.

Re: Naturalisation: Good Character Reqirements

From my understanding, your in time application and appeal were covered under section 3c. The 28 day rule was abolished in 2016 after your subsequent application was made in 2015, which was successfully approved. 28 day rule has now been reduced to 14 days. I think it will not be an issue in your c...

Child applicants with criminal records . This is the only one that I can think of that could be considered close to what you propose. Since citizenship isn't a right, it's difficult to make a case that anyone was wronged by its denial, hence the lack of precedent for adult applications. But there a...

Hi, I'm on a Tier 2 General visa and planning to apply for ILR this month via the 5 year route using the same day premium service. My question is about the Schengen visa I hold at present, which is valid until 2020. When I get my ILR, will that invalidate the Schengen visa as it was applied when I ...

The chances are more like 1/10000. But if you've got the money to burn and don't let yourself get your hopes up too much, you can rest assured that the money will be put to good use funding the UK immigration system if nothing else.

Re: Citizenship refusal due to tv licence conviction

It's also important to keep in mind the UK government can decide to bestow citizenship however they wish, by whatever means they wish. They can also deny it for whatever reason they like (however menial or arcane) or no reason at all. Indeed that is a right of any sovereign nation. No, I disagree o...

Re: Citizenship refusal due to tv licence conviction

Is it not worth convincing them that it was one minor offence done by a person of otherwise good character and their decision not to grant might be disproportionate? Thank you for your insights. Am I in one basket with drug and sex related offenders when it comes to my conviction for non payment of tv licence? Your only practical option is to wait until 2025. There are less practical options, but they are very likely doomed expensive op...
