For me also it is about travel, I'm fed up getting a schengen visa to travel with my partner every time we go away, also want to make sure I apply before and if any rules change in the future. I think most people just want a decision so they can get out of the immigration sytem once and for all!

Naturalisation and Travel abroad

Hi I've just got my approval letter through and am hoping to have my ceremony in about 3 weeks time. I will be travelling back to my home country on the 1st July, so I don't think I will have time to apply for my UK passport and receive my country passport back in time before I travel home. Could yo...

Hiya

When I called HO a while ago I was asked if the country I came from had national service, when I said it did the call centre advisor said that that can add some time onto processing. No idea why???

I'm from Iran, any other Jan or feb club members from a similar nationality or part of the world?

Passport application

Hiya

I just wondered when applying for a Britis Passport, is it necessary that the counter signatory needs to provide a written refrence on headed paper?

I have heard a few people mention this and I'm confused.

Many thanks

Hiya Chipmunk, sounds like good news. When did you apply, cos I've got a feeling you applied around the time I did.

So hopefully a letter will be winging its way to me soon!

I just called them, got the usual we cant give you any details because it is under 6 months, but he said I can look to see if any letters have been sent to you. He looked but saw no letters had been sent (therefore I know that no decision has been made yet). Maybe this is a better way to ask the adv...

Self employed and BC

Hiya I submitted my BC application on the 28/02/2012, I am self employed, but only in the current tax year, so I do not need to submit my tax return until after April 5th 2012. I submitted a letter from HMRC that showed I had registered as self employed on the 18/04/2011 as HO said this was acceptab...
