UK Passport Application Times

For a straight forward renewal of an Adult passport - no name changes or address changes I know they say 3 weeks but will it be done quicker? Need to travel on 11th or 12th Oct so can I book my ticket now and not provide passport details until the new passport arrives? Or shall I provide old passpor...

Re: Still doing Passport interviews?

My wife gained her citizenship in 2016. She is also a US citizen and used her US passport all the time without problem and as she has now gained UK citizeship so we never bothered with getting her a UK passport. I always thought that for your first UK adult passport you attend an interview at a loca...

Still doing Passport interviews?

Has the Passport Office changed policy? For citizens naturalised in the UK for their first passport I thought they were having to go for interviews for ID checks?

Re: Subject Access Request

Thanks for linking to that thread. It seems there will be no evidence of that. Is it detrimental to make a SAR for a non HO related issue?

Subject Access Request

Has anyone applied for a SAR from the HO? It is for my mother - she is a British citizen but cannot remember the exact date when she arrived in the UK. She knows the month and year. She needs this to complete her state pension - the date she came to live in the UK and I would rather not get it wrong...

Does the Passport service keep old applications on file? I just can't remember what I put down for how long I have known my friend - we are childhood friends.

Re: Do I need to register my child as being British?

Has the HO become more strict post June 2016?

Fortunately my wife application was made in March 2016 if i recall correctly and returned sometime in April/ May. This was prior to the referendumB in June 2016. Are applications taking longer to complete as there is a deluge of applications or the HO is trying to find any fault in applications to r...

Do I need to register my child as being British?

Do I need to register my child as being British? Both myself and my wife are British, she holds dual nationality.

I have a UK birth certificate but nothing other than that to confirm that my child has been born in the Uk.

Re: Which Passport Queue?

Well the US prefers that you enter and exit US on your US passport. So to clarify. We book tickets for 3 travellers on their US passports. Then on return they enter the queue for British Nationals where she shows my kids UK passports and her nat cert and explains didnt get chance to get UK passport ...

MillerCo You are creating a straw man argument. If you have lived in 4 Western economies as you state I hope they value freedom of expression more than yourself. The only way the UK government are increasing aggregate demand is through increasing the labour market and population not through producti...

Re: The change in the naturalisation law in April 2016

I think fees will keep on rising. There is inelastic demand. No one who wants to become a citizen will be put off by the fees even if they keep on rising.

Once the UKBA becomes profitable it will be privatised just like the Land Registry.

I think you have been used by this guy, he already has one child with another wife in India. You should reconsider staying with him and consider the life for your kids. It is better not starting a life with a person who has shown deception on more than one occasion. What matters is giving your two k...

Re: Brexit better for non-EU migrants

Free movement of people should never have been part of the EU treaty. This is not about xenophobia, foreigners taking jobs etc. A healthy and vibrant economy requires certain controls and regulations to stop an economy from overheating and getting into a boom bust cycle. Anything uncontrolled will l...

So he pays rent to a another company so that they will send business to him. I take it he passes this rent through his ltd company accounts. He then is paid in cash for his fares, well as long as he declares all of these fares as income and passes it through the ltd company and then draws a wage and...

Re: SPOUSE VISA QUESTION

If the income requirement is £18,600 then surely this means if you cannot meet it you should think about whether you can support your partner adequately rather than think about gaming the system. The savings requirement can easily be a tactic to see where the money came from, perhaps non declared in...
