either way Fiance or Spouse, you will need to prove you can support her without recourse to public funds... as you are currently receiving public funds your application will probably be denied

we failed to get married in thailand due to a chicken up by the company we'd enlisted (they got the vietnamese documents wrong)... so I am now applying for a Fiance Visa instead and we aim to get married in the UK as soon as possible... I've submitted all the docs and emails from trying to get marri...

usually they won't accept savings only, my other half had a tourist visa refused on the basis that I wasn't in work at the time even though we only planned to come back to the UK for 2 weeks and I had £20,000 in my savings at the time, they still said I hadn't provided proof I could support us both...

it always used to be that the office in HCMC would accept "fast track" applications only and even then you could be "invited" to hanoi for an interview, as of September '09 the consulate in HCMC no longer accepts any applications, they say this is temporary but... http://ukinvietnam.fco.gov.uk/en/vi...

oh ok... just everyone else I've ever known go to hanoi to hand in the paperwork, have always been given an interview the same day (as in, told to wait right there until their name is called, the most recent was about 4 months ago)... but then everyone else I know has been going for a Visit Visa not...

I've been told it takes up to 3 months to process a settlement visa, if you made your application at the end of July it could be the end of October before you hear anything.
