Check regularly to see if they have any cancellations.

I know people who are in their late twenties to early thirties, have a Master's degree in IT and have a few years of coding/programming experience in their home country (with decent IT firms) and are struggling to get an job in the UK or are quite frustrated with the work/conditions in the UK. So if...

Why do you not buy a ticket back to India and leave; if you think you are being treated badly.

You have your Indian passport and can save up for a cheap ticket back to India.

UK allows dual Nationality, India doesn't. So she has to surrender her passport (even though expired) within 3 months of becoming a British Citizen.

If she goes for a Indian visa on her British Passport, she could be asked to surrender her Indian Passport at that given stage.

They can always explain the situation.

They filled up the form with a valid visa at the time of filling the form. They can carry copies of both your old and new visas with them when they go for their interview and can explain it to the VFS representative.

Be prepared to answer questions when you reach passport check in India. Most of those guys sitting there are not always up-to-date on Passport Surrender rules.

Print a copy of the '3 month grace period' page from the HCI website and carry it with you.

Both parents had passports issued from different states in India, however they have now been living in Mumbai for the last 5 years...

If your child was born in the UK after you got your ILR (or PR), HCI will not issue an Indian Passport to him (your application will get rejected and returned back to you) as he is a British Citizen. Since you and/or your wife still have Indian passports, apply for an OCI for your child (after you g...

There are notaries in the UK who can draft an affidavit for you. Their prices vary so the best option is to refer to Yellow pages ( www.yell.com - search for notaries nearest to your postcode), find a notary nearby, contact them to check for prices based on your requirement. You can get your public ...

Your son could apply for OCI on the basis of his mother.

You would have to produce your parents Indian Passport(s) or some documentary proof that they were Indian citizens to be eligible for an OCI.

As I understand it for OCI they put a sticker in your British passport as well as issuing a separate OCI passbook. Yes. So when your British passports expires do you the have to through the whole process again to get a sticker in it? You do not have to. If you don't then, whenever you travel to Ind...

Why did your wife not apply for OCI upon surrendering her Indian Passport ? She could have then enjoyed a life long visa to India. She can even do this now. You and your son would then become eligible for PIO, which would allow you and him to get a 15 yr visa. You will now probably get a 6 month vis...
