From your previous post: I already have ILR and will be applying for Naturalization in 2 months time, my question is: - I have 3 Children (all below 10 years of age) born outside the UK and they have ILR as well, what is the way forward as regards their naturalization? As answered before, those chil...

(edited following sushdmehta comment below) Assuming the children are born in the UK: Children born AFTER either parent is settled in the UK (hold ILR/PR) are British from birth. No need to register them. You can apply for passport directly. Children born BEFORE either parent is settled in the UK (h...

You can apply for British citizenship after 5 years of exercising EU Treaty Rights + 1 year so 6 years in total. So assuming you have been exercising treaty rights from May 2005 to May 2010 (for example as a worker), you could apply now for British citizenship if you meet the Standard requirements f...

You either leave the UK in one year time or apply for extension of your visa.
You child will only be entitled to apply for British citizenships if the conditions mentioned above are met. Just the fact that he will be born in the UK doesn't give him any rights.

If you hold a PR confirmation, you can skip section 2.4 in the AN form (EU exercising treaty rights). You don't need to show P60 for the final year. There is no requirement to be economically active for naturalisation (in fact, very few documents are needed for naturalisation which always amaze peop...

Well, there is the simple way and the right way... You can apply for naturalisation after 5+1 years so you can apply for naturalisation in September 2011 (assuming you meet the residence requirements and pass the life in the UK test). In that case, it is likely you will need to provide all the docum...

You are correct. The online application is not well designed if your parents or grandparents are not British. Just pop into the post office and ask for the passport application form (the form is free). Anyway it is quicker to do it by hand. Even if you apply online, the online form is then printed a...

romchie, It is important for you to understand that EU citizens and their family members don't need a visa to live and work in the UK. Exercising EU treaty rights is enough. All the forms/stamps in your passports are not visas but confirmations of your right in the UK (check the page in your passpor...

A marriage certificate should be enough. Are your personal circumstances such that it would make UKBA suspicious abo...

Hello all, I am new to this forum and have some burning questions that won't let me sleep at night. After scouring the net and I found this forum and its cool. HO website is sometimes very confusing. This has not started yet and wasn't announced when it will start but it will be in Liverpool not Croydon. Personally, I fail to understand why you would paid £300 for a free service when you can always ask for your passport back without affecting your application.

You will need to provide all the P60 (or other forms proving of exercising treaty rights) as they have no way of knowing that you have gained automatic PR status. For children there is no interview. Place of birth in British passport

Hi,

For people born outside the UK, would the place of birth in the passport details page include the country they were born in or just the city?
I know that for UK born people, only the UK city/town is listed but was wondering if it is the same case for people born outside the UK.
Thanks.

Not senior but will try to help....

There is no need to provide proof of address in the application. As long as you lived there, that's OK. Tell the truth and don't worry. If there is a problem, HO will write to you ask for proof but I don't think this should be of a concern.
