Even mine also got cancelled yesterday's appointment. contacted UKVCAS , said my biometry deadline should not be a problem.
But luckily, got a slot on 5th January this morning.

1] For extension, you no need to prove maintenance.
2] IHS is usually given by the applicant.

You will get partial unused IHS eventually.

You cannot change the duration of the visa, ask your employer to change end date in Cos.

my understanding is that, your company supports first 3 months or 1month of your job.
if your applying after this period, you have to show mantainence.

any communication within 24hrs means you wont get refund.

Online submission date is application date.
my understanding is that, they get cos anytime, there is no time restrictions.

I suggest applying just before your dependents visa expiry.
very minimal documentation for Extention, you should submit the form online a day before 15th Jan.

Why did you send originals by post?

Once you uploaded all documents and did biometrics that's all, just wait, it might take up to 6 months for your approval.

If your wife not applying for the visa, then you no need to suppy. However, in future , in case she is applyin, she has to show evidence of marriage.

Depending on your country, you need to work out getting certificate/alternative evidence

council does not need your ref. number but your correct name. However, this may differ council to council. Check your email for ref. number what you received. usually, it is mix of letters and numbers.
