Thanks z18runway,

Already had some information from the other guys.

That's how I knew about the exemption for UK based air crew.

Good luck to everyone waiting.

Couple of questions for people applying using MN1 :

Anyone had to supply extra paperwork at the request of the HO after having sent in their application forms?

And if so, how much longer did it take before you heard anything again, having then sent the requested extra paperwork?

Thanks.

By Descent or Not?

Hi all, Information needed (purely for my own curiosity). I was born in Rhodesia in 1978 to a British mum and South African dad. My mum arranged my British citizenship before my 18th birthday and my certificate says it was done under section 3 (1). I see the rules changed in 1983 so I'm confused as ...

Thanks John. Where she has ever worked she has always paid the appropriate NI and income tax. So there is nothing owing to the taxman. However, currently she is studying. But as you say there isnt a problem. So I guess we just write housewife/student/unemployed? Or simply leave that section blank as...

Yes it's for a child already living in the UK under 10 years old with ILR having completed more than the required 3 year residency requirement.

Appreciate the confirmation.

Just wanted to be certain that I was reading the guide correctly.

Thanks.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has an answer to the CCJ question too.

Does it disqualify you from applying if you have one on your record?

Thanks.

From what I gather, it takes about 2 months from application to biometric letter.

And then a further 2 months approximately, from biometric appointment, to letter of approval.

Anyone else think that sounds right, on average?

They give you a receipt of payment, and then send the biometric data eletronically to HO.

That's it! Just have to sit back and wait for the approval letter.
