I haven’ seen any references in the guide or booklet or on the form itself regarding benefits/public funds.

I know or rather my friend, who has naturalized about 10 years ago, said that back then it affected application.

Agree, the question is not clear. The simple rule is what it says in the guidance and should be followed by default. I do not think there are any exceptions to it: For example if your application is received on 20 /1/2010 you should have been physically present in the United Kingdom on 21 /1/2007.

Because you were present on the 2nd. Yes, as exactly because of THAT if application reaches HO on the 8th (ie next day after NCS accepts if) then whether or not person was in the UK on the 7th is irrelevant – he/she should be in the UK on the 9th! Sure it’s safer to wit extra day or two but the...

The guide says For example if your application is received on 20/1/2010 you should have been physically present in the United Kingdom on 21/1/2007. BUT You must have been physically present in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands on the day 3 years befor...

NCS is only good if you want to keep your passport Because that's what they are for - they do not give any advice, they just photocopy one's documents and send it to UKBA. Not exactly true – they check application for missing information and can help to complete it with relevant and, most importa...

And although it is not a recent news, where do you actually see the new fees on UKBA site? If you go over there http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/ there is NOTHING about new fees. So for many people new fees may quite be a news. Yes, exactly – how do those savers know about the...

may be you need to increase your social circle. How about improving your own social circle eh? 8) I’m not judging situation, just suspicious that price is not an issue, new rules – maybe. Panicking and applying last minute to save £50 is not for people who really struggle to get those £50. As...

£50 is £50, it isn’t nothing but it isn’t reason to apply in triple amounts surely. On a contrary to you I don’t know a single person who applied earlier for this reason. In addition to that those are very old news and applications that seem to be affected by the increase are only this month...

Thanks vinny
I guess it will be pointless argue with HO that getting family reunion visa while on family visit visa does actually make sense
Anyway, what type of visa would they have to be on to apply from inside the UK?

Can anybody clarify if parent can apply from within the UK while on family visit visa? And if not, what visa would they have to be on to be able to do that? You are still subject to examination 10A. Where a person has arrived in the United Kingdom with leave to enter or remain which is in force but which was given to him before his arrival he may be examined by an Immigration Officer under paragraph 2A of Schedule 2 to the Immigration Act 1971. Only actual British, EU and Swiss nationals/passport holders are not required to fill in landing cards. Although ILR means "not subject to immigration controls" it stll does not mean you have the same rights as British/EU passport holders. For example, if you stay outside the UK for more than 2 yea...
