Hello Amit, I would advise that you call them to discuss your situation. There might be a simple way out.

Have you asked her health visitor?

Must be a private ceremony Yes its got to be a private ceremony as Avis only got his approval yesterday. There is a ceremony at the council where I live on the 11th of May, but I dont think I'll get my approval before that and then I'll have to wait until the second week of June. I am not really pl...

Actually, as you get your letter of approval, the council gets your citizenship certification letter which they give out only after the ceremony. Correct. All that the person did at the council was to ask me to repeat the pledge and then wrote the date on a pre-printed certificate. So have you alre...

Swiss Visa from U.K.

Hello guys, I wonder if anyone can advise on this. My mother-in-law will be coming to the UK in the next 2 weeks on a 6 month family visitor visa. She might want to make a 3-4 day trip to Switzerland while she is here. My question is whether she will be able to apply for a Swiss visa from the U.K.? ...

Thanks tintin.. I didn't wait for a letter from the council; that will take its own time. I called up the council anyways and asked for the earliest ceremony date. They asked for the Home Office reference number and my first name and seemed to have a record of this. That was clever Avis. I'll try t...

Congratulations Avis.

Did the invitation letter come separately from the approval letter? I thought that one is suppose to ring the council to book the ceremony after the invitation letter is received.

As Ferrarilondon has advised, ask the HO to reconsider your application. In your covering letter, clearly mention the dates you were away from the country.

Even if you were away for more than 450 days, the case worker has got some discretion if your application is satifactory in all other ways.

being released without charged means that they found nothing against you and I dont think that there would be any record of it. I am not competant to advise you on whether you should declare this or not, may be its worh having a chat with an expert.

Thanks for the link Lionking, its really interesting. I suppose we will not hear anything from them now until atleast the first week of May. Its been quite a while since anyone here on this forum has had an approval. Most of us who applied in Fab-March have not heard anything back. There is definitely something unusual going on ! And the holiday season starting from next week is bound to add to all this delay. I am just hoping I get the ...
