Thanks for the link Lionking, its really interesting. I suppose we will not hear anything from them now until atleast the first week of May. I rang them about 2 weeks back and got the same answer- waiting to be assigned to a caseworker. I applied on the 17th of March (5 year WP + 1year ILR), so its ...

Its been quite a while since anyone here on this forum has had an approval. Most of us who applied in Fab-March have not heard anything back. There is definitely something unusual going on ! And the holiday season starting from next week is bound to add to all this delay. I am just hoping I get the ...

Hello Guys, In my opinion we are unnecessarily getting overwhelmed with the credit checks and CCJ's. If we know that we are upto date with our bills and there are no outstanding claims, then whats the point of spending money on doing credit checks etc etc - why worry if we know everything is ok! let...

When you say the case was discharged - do you mean you were clearly acquitted? If thats the case then you dont need to worry and you dont have to declare. However, if you were fined or warned, then you will have to declare this unless its already spent. Please give more details so that someone here ...

Gul I think the reason for the delay with your application could be that it has been randomly selected for detailed checks. I dont think applying through NCS should make any difference, I think they are considered on a first come first served basis.

Hopefully you will hear from them shortly

Hmmm, I suppose people who applied during the 2nd/3rd week of March should start getting some responses from this week onwards. Going by the previous posts, it takes anything between 18 days to 6 weeks for generally straight forward applications. I hope we get the approval in the next 2-3 weeks, oth...

There are a few possible scenarios: 1. You can trace your friend and he admits his fault and pays the fine - There is no problem at all then. 2. Your friend does not admit his fault and you cannot prove that he was driving - In this case speak to the police and they will be able advise you on the be...

I understand that you have the contact details of your friend who was driving over the speed limit. Have you contacted that friend to see if he has got anything from the police. If he has been contacted by the police and if he has accepted the fixed penaly notice, then you dont have to worry. Anothe...

Hello Rani, You must declare this. Hiding any information can harm your application. As per the guide to Form(AN) page 15, fixed penalty notices are generally ignored. However at the same time it also says that driving whilest un-insured is not considered as a minor offence. In my opinion, it is all...

OCI ELIGIBILITY

I wonder if someone can help with this. Me and my wife are Indian citizens, we both have Indian passports and are staying in the U.K. on an indefinite leave to remain. Our 5 week old son was born in the UK and he has now got his U.K passport. My questions are: 1. Is he eligible to be registered as a...

My friend applied in person at the Sheffield PEO. I am not too sure if he took a covering letter with him but I suppose its always a good idea to have one. The most important document that you would need is a letter from your employer stating that the gap was due to a business case. You may struggle...

One of my friend was in an exactly similar situation, but he got a letter from his employer explaining that the gap was because he was required overseas for a perod of time. ...

I can answer the 2nd question - i have a freind who was in the same situation. There was a gap of about 50 days between his first work permit cancelled and the new visa granted. ...

Thanks Sush, I take it that I can apply on 18.11.2010. But then what does UKBA mean by - Any time spent in the UK which was free from immigration control will not be counted towards the residential qualifying period. Does having an ILR not mean that I am free from immigration control since march 201...
