It's a tricky one cos the guidance just says you must have worked for your employer for six months and '..be applying to continue in the same job you are doing on the date of the application'. My interpretation of that is as follows: e.g. if you change your job title a few days before your applicati...

Hello arsenal, The answer to your question is: yes, you will be awarded. The example you have given matches my case exactly that is, before I applied for Tier 2, my salary was not up to the recommended salary specified in the code of practice for my job title. However, when I wanted to apply to swit...

You were right Arjun when you said that decision for Tier 2 general normally comes about three weeks after submitting biometrics. I received my ICFN yesterday, May 14, 2010. It came before my passport and documents, but the accompanying letter said 'I will receive the documents soon' My guess is tha...

I dont think it's anything for you to worry about. You've got the permit already. It's probably just to make a few checks like 'The Station Agent' suggested.

Cheers!

Thanks Arjun and Vanadil for your contributions.
I also applied from within the UK (switching from post study work).

Keep us updated here. I'll also post any new developments.

Hopefully, the reply will come next week.

I hope it works out well for everyone.

Cheers!

TIER 2 PROCESSING TIME

Is there anyone who received their documents and decision letter within the four weeks proceesing time. It's been exactly four weeks since my application was received by HO and I'm yet to receive the feedback. I did my biometrics 15 days ago. Applied on 3rd April 2010, documents delivered to HO on 7...

@crownvictory, the minimum sa lary is not £24000 but £20,000 @Arjun, yes you are right, the codes of practice must be adhered to with respect to number of working hours per week and gross(annual) salary. It is the responsibility of the employer to pick a job title from the codes of practice which ...

Yeah, I should think so. I think adherence to the occupational codes of practice applies to all kinds of Tier 2 applications since all Tier 2 applications require a CoS and the information filled into a Cos includes details of the job (title, salary etc).

Coolio. Thanks arsenal. I just wanted to know whether each application is considered independently. My first application is yet to be considered as I am still at the biometric stage. I am just sceptical about it because of the 40 hrs that was specified on my cos instead of 37.5 hours.

Cheers!

So UKBA sent me an acknowledgement letter. In it they said something about validity of application (i.e. right application form, fee paid etc). Is this the standard content of acknowledgement letters? @chtan, can you remember whether the acknowledgement letter sent to you said anything about validit...

RE: tier 2 refused please help!!

@chtan: That's great, so your company extended their annual CoS allocation? So are you submitting another application then? You still haven't responded to my question about the time line for your first Tier 2 application? @arsenal: Once a CoS has been used for an application and that application was...

Thanks guys for your responses and suggestions. @Arsenal: I sent a postal order with my application, so I don't think it would be possible to get my application fee back since postal orders clear immediately - it's been at the HO for five days now. Yes I still have leave left on my visa till Decembe...

RE: tier 2 refused please help!!

@chtan how long did the process take i.e. when did you receive biometric letter, how long after that did you receive the decision? With reference to chtan I think I'm in the same boat here. I submitted my Tier 2 application last week only to find out about the hourly rate thing on this forum two day...
