Re: PEO APPLICATION ON HOLD

ILR checks on any type of application ( T1) or LR with a mixture of T1 will be scrutinized for tax and NI affairs.

More fun when you go for Naturalization :D

Re: Tax return of full-time employed needed for ILR?

underpaid tax and overpaid tax is collected / refunded by HMRC via P800 not SA ( for PAYE).

unless OP has income that is not declared then SA is required, hope this is clear.

Get your basics right first! No point point arguing

Re: ILR query

its so appalling to see posts like these where no effort has been made to understand requirements, eligibility, not settled TAX affairs. And will continue in the citizenship section.

Just simply annoyed.!

ILR begins on the date of approval at PSC, not sure of postal applications.

You can apply for citizenship only after one year on ILR

Re: ILR Application Dilemma - PEO or Post ?

Employment history and any P60s help CW to understand employment period for the 5 year period and a good way of checking previous Tier1 applications for implications of PAYE or SE tax/NI issues. Not mandatory but good have!, Citizenship naturalisation forms asks for this, so this will come in handy!...

Just use the option : "YES" and explain in a cover sheet or a page stating reasons of unemployment, as long as the salary income to prove points is in reach you are good to go.

Re: TAX Query TIER 1 Genral to ILR

Shouldnt be a problem.
Go with the basis that if you were required to show say 30000 pounds for extension. HO will expect the amount declared / taxed on the total earnings for the same amount HO has.

e.g If you have shown 35k to HO as total earnings , they will verify 35K with HMRC

its not about SA320 or a P800 or a P60, If you earn £XX,XXX and show the same earnings to Home office, They expect you to pay taxes on the same. Its not rocket science.

Re: First Entry and Absences for ILR

Coming to Uk for a job and going back after an offer is perfectly fine. I know many who were also in a similar position and were granted Settlement, as long as absences are within the 180 day limit.

Explaining this in a cover letter is more than enough!.
