You don't speak to the caseworker who actually decides your application, calling up UKBA repeatedly may upset few call center people but it is unlikely to have any impact on your application or your decision.

There is no min/max per week period of study required for a student visitor visa.

The key is that whosoever he is studying with needs to have a tier 4 sponsor licence and he is not allowed to switch sponsor ie by changing course.

Answering your original query....being employed for 6 months doesn't guarantee you a tier 2 work permit, all it does is you are exempted from the restricted allotment of COS and you can get unrestricted COS and also without undergoing RLMT as you would be exempted.
