Re: Tier 1 General Dependent Visa for new Born

When is your ILR due? The reason I am asking this question is, because you can save some money if you are not planning to travel. I had my baby in Oct'12 when I was on Tier 1, but was due for ILR in Aug'13, so dropped the plan of traveling and applied registration using MN(1) for my child as britis...

Re: British Citizenship or ILR

Thanks CR001, Im aware that if baby is born in UK he/she will be british by birth, but I read somewhere that HO can apply discretionary powers while assessing naturalisation and if an application for registration for the new born is made under section 3(1) and under subsection 9.

Re: passport near expiry when applying for extension

It is advisable to renew your passport before you apply for any visas, there is a possibility the IMO will invalidate your application, and may not refund your application fees, which will cost you a fortune. Better late than never.

Re: Visa expiry after Passport expiry

You need to apply for a new passport before your old passport expires. Once you get a new passport, inform UKBA about your new passport and they will update their records. Biometric cards usually do not carry your passport details. As a precaution carry both passports while travelling abroad.
