Re: Tier1 grilled/insulted at heathrow immigration.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else on Tier1 has had this worst experience at heathrow immigration. I mean I've been in the uk since 2007 and have been in and out of country on student then psw and then T1 visa and never been insulted in this manner by any immigration officer. And right now I'm...

great, so we are coming back to initial intention of this post. So in absence of appeal rights, is the applicant still able to pursue judicial review? How is it different from appeal rights in practice (except the cost part as you mentioned)?

Thanks,

New Immigration Bill and my rights

Hello, seems with new proposed immigration bill , right to appeal are cut down to bare minimum 4, all relating to human rights so what happens if a Tier 1 extension application is refused under 'balance of probabilities'? Is option of judicial review still there? Though honestly, I am not even sure ...

I think you will come under rules in place after 6th April 2011, which means no provision for ILR and you need to exit UK after 5 years for atleast 1 year cooling off period.

I think what happened was that someone in HO mentioned to auditor that since Tier 1 (G) closed n 2011, they don't foresee extension applications beyond 2014 and that noting made into the report incorrectly as T1G extensions will 'close' in 2014. Perhaps a minor thing from auditor perspective but if ...

that is inline with my understanding of rules so let me present second option I have in mind. HO has documented now that upto 28 days of overstay will not be considered as 'breach of immigration rules'. Based on this, can I apply 15-20 days after my current leave expires so that when I apply its wel...

That was quick, thank you. I was all set to go for extension until recent speculations of HO considering closing extensions in 2014. I may not be able to apply for extension in 2014 if that indeed is deadline and hence this query. So the query essentially is, can I send an ILR application earlier th...

Will I be able to applu ILR without extension?

Hello, I got my initial Tier 1 in September 2010 but came to UK on 1st April 2011. Applied for extension in Sep 2012 by post and got it valid from 20th February 2013 to 19th February 2016. I will be eligible for ILR on 1st April 2016 hence by basic calculations I need 2nd extension as I am short of ...

and if you read closer in the excerpt provided by you, it says 'reason for absence' and there is no mention of word 'evidence'. Reason should be inline with your purpose for stay in UK and most likely, they are indeed the same.

You work in capitalist economy and everyone, including UKBA understands this and that is the reason they ask for income in 12 consecutive of last 15 months. Doesn't matter if you are employed/unemployed at time of application as long as you meet their income threshold.

New English Language Requirements for ILR

Hello, From guidance I understand applicants with Degree taught in english automatically meet new requirements. If I used degree taught in english so far for my Tier-1 applications (my college and course on UKBA calculator). In this case, am I right to assume that same is good for ILR as well as per...

Tier-1 New born dependent

Hello,

We are about to apply for Indian birth registration of our new born. Just wanted to know from someone who has been through this, can we apply for birth registration and new passport on same day at Indian Consulate. Are 4 pics enough for both or need we take more?

Many thanks,

Tier-1 Absences Reason for ILR

UKIP and ILR

With UKIP popularity growing, this in their manifesto here http://www.ukip.org/content/ukip-policies/2994-immigration-and-asylum-ukip-policy UKIP calls for an immediate five-year freeze on immigration for permanent settlement. This is worrying. Could that mean no ILR for people who are suppose to ge...
