Re: Cab office Tier 2 sponsorship acceptable?

There do not seem to be any restrictions on the nature of business when it comes to Tier 2. It is the role that matters. They may decide that they need an IT engineer or developer to grow their business or branch out into new areas. And as long as they are able to explain their needs, it is not for ...

You can apply at any time, no need to worry. I had three sponsored jobs, always applied before RLMT has even started.

You need unrestricted CoS. They should not have applied for restricted. Now they should contact HO and explain the situation.

Re: Long Term Stay options in the UK from Tier 2 ICT Visa

You may want to start looking for a new sponsor offering you a proper Tier 2 General. For someone with your salary they shouldn't be too hard to find. You may have to take a pay cut, but you will make up for it once your ILR is secured. Speaking to your current employer about this issue is not a goo...

Depends on how much your duties change and whether your new pay is less. Best to consult official guidance.

Re: Do I need to tell UKBA if I renew my passport?

Best to inform UKBA and the police (OVRO office) as well. I did not and I was recently reprimanded by the police for that, even though I was told by the earlier I don't have to. This takes little effort, so always play it safe.

Re: Is contract employment possible on Tier 2 General VISA

It is possible to do contract work via such an umbrella. The difficulty is that the contract itself must be direct to client, not via an agency, and the client should not mind you being on a Tier 2. A very small perecentage of contracts on the UK market would satisfy both these requirements. It used...

Make sure the new employer certifies the maintenance for you, or have at least 900 GBP in your bank for 3 previous months. I don't remember any other differences from simply changing jobs.

Re: Tier 2 visa change due to new employer

I just went through this process. If you have a valid Tier 2 visa at the time of your application you automatically satisfy the maintenance requirement. No need to worry about your bank account, or even sponsor's maintenance certification. Some people at HO may not be aware of that though. I actuall...

There is no special form for switching sponsors. But the forms for applying in-country and out-of-country are different. So it may be not the same one you used to get your T2 ICT.

Re: umbrella companies sponsoring tier 2 with contract

No, you cannot. What they do is provide sponsorship, so you can (in theory) work as a consultant of them and earn contract rates. In practice there are very few jobs on the market for which it will work, and such umbrellas always risk losing their licenses. Unless you already know how you will make ...

It seems that unrestricted CoS are never "allocated". They are always available to the sponsor to create a sponsorship. If you download SMS (Sponsorship Management System) PDF guide from UKBA website you will see that.

Not sure if this is helpful, but many schools and hospitals can provide sponsorhip. You can look for jobs as normal and check interesting employers against the sponsor list.

Re: Recruitment Agencies don't like TIER2 visas

Yes, it does seem to be difficult at present. Wasn't so difficult a few years ago for some reason. Generally the larger agencies are more difficult. What you can always do is also look for permanent positions that offer Tier 2 sposnorship. They are easier to find than many people think.

You can resign after getting new CoS, but it's best to do it later - when after your new Tier 2 application is approved. Just make sure the CoS start date is far enough to allow for your notice period.

Are you sure you read the leaflet correctly?

You are not supposed to do send anything in if you lose your job, as far as I am aware. Your can still stay in the country for 60 days to look for a new job which would be difficult without your passport and BRP.

Re: Are we eligible to take up any contract offer?

To add to the uk121's excellent answer, there is usually additional paperwork that the sponsor will require you and the client to sign, to make it look more like a proper service delivery rather than umbrella, and the client must be aware that UKBA can visit them on-site to check that up. This does ...

I think you may or may not need a new visa because of your promotion, depending on your duties. Read official Tier 2 policy guidances. If you change jobs, a new RLMT will be necessary unless the role in the shortage occupation list. Regarding lowrt salaries, yes it does happen, but I think not on a ...
