British Passport for New baby

Please can anyone let me know which is the right form to apply for British passport for my new baby. Both me an my wife have ILR granted last year. What documents would I have to provide?

Any help or experience from people in a similar situation, would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat and was thinking the same thing that the baby should be Indian as we are but we have established ourselves in the UK, bought property etc so really there is no benefit from keeping Indian passport. With a PIO/OCI card there will be no need for visas to India and British passport...

@sushdmehta & @vinny: Yes thanks, that's been cleared up now. I've been reading the other posts on this forum and have found the same thing. I'm going to apply for British passport for the baby and get a PIO card.

@sushdmehta: from what you're saying and other forum posts that I've read, it's relatively simple to register the child as British and apply for British passport and subsequently Indian visa. I can then apply for naturalisation when we come back and there's no time pressure. Any other forum members ...

ILR to Citizenship for family

I would really appreciate some guidance from the moderators on this forum if possible. I am really confused as to what will be the best course of action to take. First some background, I was on a WP for 5 years from Sep 2005. Got married in India Feb 2010 and my wife joined me in the UK as a depende...

From my limited knowledge, I think that on a Tier 1 visa you are allowed to be out of work as long as you are not claiming benefits. So it shouldn't have an effect on your application.

I think it depends on whether you can justify the days spent outside were for work/health matters etc. You will need a letter from employer if they were for work.

My pay has increased by 50-60% from what is mentioned in the WP and I have been promoted in the meantime so it was really great that there were no questions about that at all. The following documents were asked for: Passports Photos Letter from employer LITUK Pass Letters 3 month payslips 3 month ba...

ILR Success PEO Croydon 18 Sep

Hooray!! After last 3 days of panic, we finally got our ILR at Croydon on Sat. Luckily, the caseworkers didn't seem to ask about the change in job title. They did ask for 5 years P60, I found all mine luckily. She checked the entry and exit stamps on passport for a while but didn't ask any questions...

Changes to job title

I was employed at the start of my WP as a Graduate Engineer on my employers graduate programme(2years). Since then I have been promoted to Project Engineer. I'm still on the same WP and have the letter showing change in Terms and Conditions. My worry is that since this is different from what is show...

It says on the UKBA 'What will happen on the day page' that you should arrive with photocopies of your documents already done(bring originals also). This is for Croydon PEO only.

I called up the home office to confirm the booking as I didn't have names on the confirmation email. The lady asked who is the main applicant and who is the dependant??!! I had made the appointment and added my wife as a family member. I'm a little bit concerned now!!

Just called the home office today to check that my wife is added onto the appointment. The lady asked for the names and then surprisingly asked 'Who is the main applicant as this is not clear'. I clearly made the appointment and added my wife as a family member and told her this. She said ok as long...

I don't think there is a minimum amount of funds needed, but to be on the safe side I'm going to take savings account statements for my appointment.
