Please see the topic below where this is discussed. According to OCI rules, for a minor to achieve OCI status, one of the parents must be eligible for an OCI, i.e one of the parents must hold a foreign passport.

Re: Do new citizens have to be registered on Electoral Regis

When my wife received her naturalisation certificate she was given a "New British Citizen Voter Registration" form to be registered on the Electoral Registry. Is it compulsory? will there be any negative consequences for not register on Electoral Registry, other than unable to vote? You haven't sai...

Yes you do need to register with police if staying for more than 180 days and also the validity is for 15 years(as compared to lifelong for OCI).

Maybe then its only certain NCS offices who have this requirement. They do need to standardise it and avoid confusing applicants.

I have just applied using NCS on 17th April. I was also asked to bring driving licence (there is no mention in the form) and counterpart along with passports & LITUK pass certificate. The lady in the interview also asked me whether I had any points and it was part of the checklist that they complete...

A minor is not eligible for OCI until one of the parents is also eligible i.e when one of the parents has acquired British nationality only then can you apply for OCI for the child. You can apply for PIO in the meantime, it is basically the same rights and priveleges but is only valid for 15 years.

Work visa - which is the best way?

My cousin is in India and wants to come and work here for some time. He was previously posted here for about 1.5 years on a Work Permit. I understand that Tier 1 and Work Permit are no more and therefore he needs to have a firm job offer and apply for Tier 2 visa (provided he qualifies under the poi...

I can only say from my pe...

I don't know your individual circumstances, but if the baby was born after you or your wife have got ILR, and in the UK, then you will have to get an affidavit from the Home Office to say that British Citizenship has not been applied for. I think that HCI will then accept the application. I think th...

Please see topic below. For a minor child to be eligible for OCI, one of the parents must be a foreign citizen and eligible for OCI. I don't think the rules have changed recently. Please correct me if I'm wrong. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=84816&sid=78ae1b716857d4a98093a508ed97a...

Correction - OCI cannot be applied for unless one of the parents is eligible for OCI as well. PIO card or visa will be the options if you wish to travel to India after baby gets British passport.

So, just to be clear, should speeding / stopping in yellow box etc. FPNs be declared or not?
And I'm asking presuming that they've been paid in full before any deadline.

From your post, it does appear that you have shown good character apart from that FPN. Did you explain fully in the application the reason behind not paying the FPN in time and the matter having to go to court? If not, then you may like to do so in your appeal. I don't know if character statements f...
