Complaints process is http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-p ... passports/

TBH, I am not expecting much from them when we go through it.

Experience with any division of the Home Office has never been great but ultimately gotten what we wanted out the end of it so accept it.

As you mention interview are you talking about citizenship or passport?

If it is for a passport you would complain to the IPS rather than UKBA

We didnt have any recent docs to submit as you only receive the requested statement if are required to pay tax and from the 4 years she's been self employed earnings have been below the personal tax allowance except the very first one.

Wasnt asked for anything else in our case.

The forms say a manager of a VAT registered company counts but from other posts on here UKBA have advised not when people have phoned and asked (not surprising really given anyone can form a VAT registered company for about £35). Dont know if anyone has applied and had it rejected though. Easiest th...

Time to receive acknowledgement

Wondered how long from sending off an EEA3 application any form of acknowledgement? I know the time to process it is up to 6 months? A friends sent their docs about 4 weeks ago and hasnt heard anything and I cannot remember how long it took for us, though for BC it took 6 weeks for the HO to acknowl...

If they work in an investment bank then they are probably ok. If they work in a broker or such within investment banking then probably not.

Presumably you have exhausted the obvious ones such as your GP or your Dentist?

I am always surprised that "Manager of a VAT registered company" is listed, even Directors shouldnt be on there in my opinion given that with no vetting and only about £35 you can set up a company and register it for VAT. That said, it is there and so in theory the Deputy Head of a department should...

Speeding up passport applications

I was wondering if there are any tips or tricks to speed up the application for a British Passport? We want to book a holiday but not sure what name to use as the british passport will be in married name but the current passport in maiden name. Would prefer to book in married name (had questions alr...

Assuming you meet the other requirements then you can apply now for BC on the basis of 5 years residency inc at least 1 free from immigration control. Your wife cannot apply yet having not been here 5 years yet. That said, assuming that you do become British she can then apply immediately for BC too...

We never got ours, called the council and they just emailed a copy of it.

As has been said though, you just need the HO invitation and photo ID on the day

Your actual PR was when you were in the country 5 years exercising treaty rights and so you could apply now as this has presumably already passed giving how long it takes to get PR sorted. That said, my experience of UKBA is that they dont always know the rules and for the sake of waiting a fortnigh...

Which country is it? Can you not check with their consulate? My guess would be you put one in A and the other in C and it is purely your choice which order you choose (presumably you use the one they will consider most favourably in A) B would only be used if you relinquished any nationality (eg if ...

1) Yes 2) Ok 3) It is the HMRC office that handles your taxation. If you are an employee your HR department will be able to tell you which tax office deals with them 4) If you are using NCS then only photocopies are sent not any originals. Not sure what you are wanting returned using your prepaid en...

Half the stamps in our passport are unreadable, several overlap each other, some are missing as per your issue.

Didnt have a problem and just correctly filled in the form AN based on the truth rather than just what stamps are present etc. Wasnt a problem for us.

1) No, the only optional part is to use NCS and thus not lose your docs. No way to accelerate the process 2) Your BC application doesnt impact your ILR. I imagine if they find there is some big issue in your past they may pass it to the other relevant department for review. If you do some digging yo...

You havent been resident for 3 years if you only arrived on 10/04/2009 but you can apply from the 10/04/2012 when you will have been.

You need to make an appointment for NCS. In London it is typically a month or so in advance, cannot comment for other areas.

1) You must have been resident in the UK for 3 years. Your ILR means you meet the free from immigration control and as the spouse of a BC you dont need to have the normal 1 year free of immigration control 2) You can make the appointment whenever just as long as by the appointment itself you are eli...

You however need to ensure you dont have any CCJs or CIFAS loadings due to the debt 3) You need to send your proof of residency etc for the last 5 years in the form of passport(s). I spoke to my accountant ...he sent me a form for registering myself for self-assesment ...and asked me to fill it as a ' I have become a director' ... and send it to HMRC.
