It was my name (i.e Main applicant) for the responsible adult on the letter.

I remember entering my name for the 'accompanying responsible adult' in the relevant section of the dependent application form when we applied.

yes, did the biometrics for all of us at the post office. It went smooth for us. There were like 5 people ahead of us in the queue, but didn't have to wait for long.

I am going for mine with wife and toddler (less than 2 years old). Hope I don't face a similar situation. From March 1st children's biometric can be done according to the letter. Hope for the best.

I got the biometric invitation for me and family and they do have the barcode and option to enrol in a post office for all of us. So intend to do this asap. The nearest post office for me is middleton near manchester. Have couple of questions. I had booked earlier for an online appointment when I go...

Thanks Shiv for your reply.

I haven't got the invitation letter by post yet. Let's see if there is any barcode when I get it.

Tier 2- biometric appointment :system down

I got a biometric invitation for myself and dependents by mail. Since yesterday night the system is down and cannot make an appointment. For a few minutes the system was up yesterday, I found the earliest available appointment is 19 April, which is 6 weeks away. 6weeks! ...is this usual? Last year w...

Thanks a lot for your comments. But it is very confusing. It clearly says in 191 of Tier 2 guidance that "if you are remaining with the same employer and change jobs to a different job within the same SOC code, your pay increases" then it is not considered as a change of employment. In my case the p...

TIER 2 query- what happens in case of Job promotion

I have a doubt on what happens if I get a promotion in the middle of a job contract and has still valid Tier2 leave remaining. It says on the tier 2 guidance that a change of employment application is not needed if the job title/salary changes but the job is with in the same SOC code. "191. A change...

Thanks Greenie, to further clarify say a the migrant X is paid 23K a year based on SOC. So after working 3 years the migrant gets a pay increase of 32K for the same job title/same job responsibilities. But now the employer is not willing to increase the pay to 35K for the same job title/responsibil...

In my case the HR applied for a COS allocation increase and didn't get anything for 3 weeks despite follow ups with ukba. During one of the follow ups ukba said they have received our request and it could take 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks when HR called ukba over this, they say they haven't received our...

Hi pswtotier2,
You have to do the biometrics this time too.

Good to know that you got your COS. Do you know when exactly you requested for the COS?

Same situation here. HR applied for an unrestricted COS for my visa extension on 16 Jan. Not allocated so far. Dont understand why UKBA wants to make things difficult for us since it is an unrestricted COS.

Anxious wait!!!

shivuk thanks for your reply. I think UKBA is causing confusion. I will check with HR about this. Hopefully they do it correctly. Sorry very confused!! I thought to enter 30 march as start date in the new COS would be very natural and straightforward. As current contract is till 29 March 2012, obviously 29 March would have been entered as last date on my previous COS. How is it possible for the employer to extend my current co...

Surprised to hear this as I have a similar situation. Currently waiting for a COS from the company for my visa extension. Current job end date is 29 march 2012 and visa expiry is april 13th 2012. So start date for new COS has to be april 14? So will I not be able to work from march 30 to april 13? S...

Thanks @sushdmehta for your reply. I will ask the company to issue a COS in the first week of January. Tier 2 Visa Extension Query

Background:- My Tier2 visa is till April 13, 2012. The end date of the current job contract is March 29, 2012. Since my contract is going to be renewed, I will need to make a tier 2 visa extension. After my company has issued a COS, when is the earliest I can apply: Dec 29, 2011 or Jan 13, 2012, i.e...
