Re: Employment income was not shown in Self-assessment

Even if your employer collected tax via PAYE, not declaring this on your self-assessment probably means that your personal allowance was applied twice (once by your employer which they should do) and again when you did the self-assessment. As a moderator will come and say soon, this isn't a tax forum.

Re: Ilr refusal for unpaid counciltax

I think you are looking at this wrong. Your council tax should be paid for the sake of not getting a criminal conviction (which will entirely destroy any chance of getting ILR soon), not for the purpose of a visa. The rejections for income tax tend to usually be deception in previous applications as...

Re: Cancelling/Rescheduling PEO appointment

You can cancel the appointment up to 5 days before for a full refund.

You can reschedule the appointment up to 48 hours before for no charge.

Not sure what credit you are looking for susheel - rescheduling isn't charged and you would have paid at the point you made your first appointment.

Re: HRMC Letter

Hi, I am applying for ILR on 30 Mar. I have seen various posts that recommends that we get a letter from HMRC confirming our pay, tax and employment history for last 5 years. I received one recently but it doesn't include the details for current year (i.e. from April 2015 - till date). I called the...

Re: SLTR-Rejected alleging Deception-Please help

I only read this thread now. With regards to the tax issue that you were busy sorting out - did the tax owing have anything to do with the claimed company which was using a forwarding address rather than their own address? The advice of appealing and not doing a fresh application was correct - a fre...

Re: ILR Statistics 2015

I'm not entirely sure that there is a crackdown. Not granted is not the same as refused. There isn't much that can necessarily be read from this as the statistics do not make it clear whether the cases which are not granted are still open or refused.

Re: Ilr refusal for unpaid counciltax

Something is strange with this. Student discount doesn't usually mean the other person doesn't pay, but that they might be eligible for a single person discount (as the student "doesn't count"). If you incorrectly claimed discount (e.g. if you should have been paying if you were working), then that ...

Firstly, well done on being so prepared, but don't overdo it. You seem to want to supply a whole bunch of stuff that is not required: Responses on your initial post - "Preparation so far" 3. If you are on Tier 1 General, then you will only need bank statements and salary slips or letter from your em...

oh sorry about using somebody else thread. There are situations where somebody was on a full time Msc student and she is also on Tier 1 and was officially exempted. Does that still have a negative effect on ILR application? How is this possible? If a full time student, how would you satisfy earning...

Re: ILR Absence Days

Your employer letter will talk about leave days (and could even be days that you didn't leave the country). Absences from the country could be either for leave or if you had to travel for work, in which case it won't be covered under leave, but hopefully mentioned in your letter.

1. No, not a requirement for ILR
2. No such letter is needed. But use the address of where you are taking / sending your application if you want to use one.
3. Only need to show earnings for the past year.

The new version of Tier1 form says that if I am living in current address for less than 5 years, then provide them only the previous address. Nobody can foresee the future. They may indeed make changes to the requirements. Some changes may be easier to pass than others, but I think if there's a reasonable expectation of going through to ILR and eventually settlement, there's little they can do to change that. Obviously if that expectation...
