Yes, you can claim self-employment income for shorter period, but all your documentation should reflect that, the last thing you want to do is to confuse the caseworker. Not sure why you would want to do that though, because your due NI is for a six month period. Your withdrawn application will be k...

Just use original statements. I have renewed using original statements and I know of several others who have done the same thing. There is absolutely no issue with using original statements.

It's highly unlikely to affect anyone in Tier 1 General as they are in the country already and by the time the consultation is over, the category has been closed for overseas applications for 5 years and the majority should have ILR already or have left the country.

That's correct. The point of an appeal is to deal with incorrect decisions made by caseworkers based on what they were given. It is not supposed to be the immediate course of action for any refused application, although, it's become this, because appealing is free. If you didn't submit all of the re...

No, you can definitely claim points for a new qualification. Just make sure that it scores you points on the points calculator.

There were several answers to this question by the Settlement Ops team on WhatDoTheyKnow.com, all saying the same thing unfortunately: Tier 1 (General) migrants are not required to be in continuous employment, but must be in the UK seeking work or looking to set up a business, therefore any absence ...

Did you just make all that up? Not a single piece of text regarding maintenance funds from the UKBA refers to only the opening and closing balance - it consistently says that you need to have your maintenance funds in your account for 90 consecutive days. It's not ambiguous and not possible to inter...

Why is it not paid as part of your salary? Is it the same amount every month? Do you pay tax on it or is it just a reimbursement?

If it's a reimbursement for money that you spent on travelling (which it sounds like) then you cannot include it.

Well, there's this.

I don't necessarily agree with it and I would approach it with EXTREME caution. The spirit of Tier 2 is not intended for people coming here to be self-employed, but if the option is available then there's nothing stopping you from investigating.

So your general assessment of the situation seems accurate. Tier 1 is closed or just too difficult to obtain and Tier 2 is only for employed individuals. The options I would investigate is family routes. You don't say whether you are a US citizen, but if you or you wife are commonwealth citizens, th...

Yes, you do need to show the same amount of points as you had to the last time, but this applies to the minimum you need to show, not the actual amount you have. So if you have 75 now and 75 would have been enough before then there is no issue.

Was this a genuine mistake or was it done deliberately. It sounds from your expectations that you did this deliberately. Unfortunately the law isn't always black and white and what worked in one case wouldn't necessarily work in the next. I would seek the help of a competent solicitor to help.

You can claim contribution based JSA based on whether you have paid NI in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 tax years. I would suggest you go to your local job centre and ask for more guidance on the matter.

Collect any information that you have to prove that you travelled between the two places on these dates (vouchers, receipts, passes etc). Keep this as proof of travel into and out of the UK.

Over and above that, even if the old rules were to apply for you, you would definitely not ne eligible ILR as there used to be a limit of 180 days in the entire 5 year period (the discr...

Stop taking things so personally. Some additional observations: 1. So firstly, the discussion is around entitlement to free care for visitors and temporary migrants (e.g. people who are not necessarily contributing to the country in the long term). 2. Much of the issue is not the actual entitlement,...
