Re: Supporting documents for Citizenship application

Where does the list refer to architect? I have read, reread and read the list again and it definitely does not include architect. Also called UKVI to confirm whether I can use an architect (as in the generally accepted type of architect who designs buildings) and they simply said that they could not...

Re: ILR bank statements do not match pay slip date

I wouldn't worry about that. It is completely normal for a company for a company to pay salaries on a different date to the payslip date. (For example, some companies pay their employees on the last Friday of each month which will be different each month, some companies will pay their employees on t...

Re: ILR Absence Letter - Does this need to be Latest ?

There is no requirement on the age of the letter, as long as it covers all of your employment. It might even be easier getting it while your employer still has records.

Re: ILR Absence Days

Yes, a letter is required. Case worker guidance states that lack of evidence may be disregarded if number of days is low (below 30 working days a year). Do you really want to take a chance and not submit a document which is stated as a requirement? You are likely to succeed without it, but every so ...

Re: SET(O) ILR Questions

It is all over the guidance for calculating continuous period in the UK. 180 is the hard cut off at which point the continuous period is broken regardless of circumstances. Anything between 30 working days per year and 180 days per year needs to be evidenced and needs to be determined that the appli...

UK Visas and Immigration Liverpool Settlement Casework PO Box 306 Liverpool L2 0QN You really should read the guidance properly though as this is mentioned in there - you have to follow the instructions carefully otherwise they will not be able to match your additional documents with your application.

Re: Ilr refusal for unpaid counciltax

Back again as I stand corrected following a discussion. I believe now that you could be refused for deception in a previous application as your local authority would have been told that you were not living at an address which you would have used in a previous Tier 1 General application (the previous...

Should be fine as long the income in your applications were legitimate (e.g. not recycled or double counted) and you paid tax on it and you still meet the requirements.

Re: SET(O) ILR Questions

I think you will have a hard time explaining the absence in the initial year still contributes to your continuous period as it is likely to have been in contradiction to the reason for your visa. Not all absences below 180 days are allowable - generally they are meant to be for holiday or for busine...

Re: Employment income was not shown in Self-assessment

Even if your employer collected tax via PAYE, not declaring this on your self-assessment probably means that your personal allowance was applied twice (once by your employer which they should do) and again when you did the self-assessment. As a moderator will come and say soon, this isn't a tax forum.

Re: Ilr refusal for unpaid counciltax

I think you are looking at this wrong. Your council tax should be paid for the sake of not getting a criminal conviction (which will entirely destroy any chance of getting ILR soon), not for the purpose of a visa. The rejections for income tax tend to usually be deception in previous applications as...

You can cancel the appointment up to 5 days before for a full refund.

You can reschedule the appointment up to 48 hours before for no charge.

Not sure what credit you are looking for susheel - rescheduling isn't charged and you would have paid at the point you made your first appointment.

Hi, I am applying for ILR on 30 Mar. I have seen various posts that recommends that we get a letter from HMRC confirming our pay, tax and employment history for last 5 years. I received one recently but it doesn't include the details for current year (i.e. from April 2015 - till date). I called the...

Re: SLTR-Rejected alleging Deception-Please help

I only read this thread now. With regards to the tax issue that you were busy sorting out - did the tax owing have anything to do with the claimed company which was using a forwarding address rather than their own address? The advice of appealing and not doing a fresh application was correct - a fre...

Re: ILR Statistics 2015

I'm not entirely sure that there is a crackdown. Not granted is not the same as refused. There isn't much that can necessarily be read from this as the statistics do not make it clear whether the cases which are not granted are still open or refused.

Re: Ilr refusal for unpaid counciltax

Something is strange with this. Student discount doesn't usually mean the other person doesn't pay, but that they might be eligible for a single person discount (as the student "doesn't count"). If you incorrectly claimed discount (e.g. if you should have been paying if you were working), then that ...

Re: ILR Absence Days

Your employer letter will talk about leave days (and could even be days that you didn't leave the country). Absences from the country could be either for leave or if you had to travel for work, in which case it won't be covered under leave, but hopefully mentioned in your letter.
