For instance if the UK citizen earned good money in the time and was provably working full time, then I would suspect...

See the Danish immigration web site for a description of what Danes need to have done to return to Denmark on the basis of EU law: See the section entitled " When is a Union citizen/an EEA national deemed to be a worker under EU law? ". Do you think you qualify? This is kind of confusing me. What i...

Thanks Sage. "enough savings" may mean different things. Do you have an idea what the minimum should be? I also mentioned that he got a permanent job offer there with an annual salary of 36000 GBP, would that count as well? Many thanks You can not apply for a EEA FP as you do not qualify for one si...

Arrrrrggghhh! The garbage spouted by most of the EU states is frustrating and mentally maiming me! :-) My husband and I have this worry of UK refusing free movement and therefore entry at Calais & then the french refusing entry to enable us back to Amsterdam! We're probably being really pessimistic...

There are no border controls within the Schenegen. I have been on this route twice and had never seen any controls. I think you should be fine.

Re: Irish Insurance

The Directive says the Health insurance is mandatory for residence permit application under the EU treaty. Correct me if I am wrong. It is only mandatory for the family if the EU citizen is a student or self-sufficient. If the EU citizen is exercising their treaty rights as a worker or self-employe...

Re: Irish Insurance

I assume this is health insurance? It's not mandatory at all, you'd be covered under the public system. Question is, do you want it or not, and can you afford it. I used to have VHI health insurance but dropped it as I found the public system fine. Though I have heard some horror stories. The Direc...

Hi Guys,

I have been looking for insurance in Ireland but they seem really expensive (above 2000 Euros PA). Is the Insucrance mandatory for self employed EU national and the family? Can anyone recommend a cheaper option?

Thanks

It seems like I am not the only one who is suffering. Is there no complaints department within the Immigration Dept where one can make complaints about any injustice? Holland has one and they do solve your issues quickly if you complaint.

Are you in a position to apply for a Residence Card as a self-sufficient EU citizen with family? Regarding the EU FAM being issued quickly- I have seen so many people complaining about waiting for more than 6 months. Well I am not sure how much money I would need to show for self sufficiency. I def...

My experience is with the UK. I doubt an employer in UK would let you work based on your Dutch RC. Even I would not hire you with just your Dutch RC. Don't know about Ireland, but I suspect you will find the same. Is there anything preventing you from immediately applying for a RC when you get to I...
