Re: Affadavit for Lost Indian Passport

It's not true that she has to surrender her Indian passport before she gets a British passport. She has to renounce her Indian citizenship within a certain timeline after acquiring foreign nationality, in this case British. So that is the date she naturalised as British. British passport doesn't com...

Re: English language requirement for Naturalization & Speeding Ticket

Ok, update. Passed the test today with two A's. Was very basic and a little silly to be honest. The registration lady agreed it was a bit pointless for some after all because they apparently also get South African nationals sitting the test many of whom's first language is English. Apparently, South...

Re: English Requirement for Citizenship

Thanks for the update. It's reassuring to note that you didn't have to take the extra step and the LIUK was accepted. I was in a similar predicament, and am booked in for the test already. Re: English language requirement for Naturalization & Speeding Ticket

Thanks John! Really appreciate this...! I went through the link provided and had a re-look and re-read the FAQ carefully, and I realised I could take the Trinity College GCSE B1 test in Glasgow, for next Tuesday the 12th March. I have now booked that. Have now requested for a refund of the IELTS Con...

Re: English language requirement for Naturalization & Speeding Ticket

[quote=CR001 post_id=1753284 time=1552208009 user_id=70994] LIUK test is NOT sufficient to meet the English requirement. Thanks CR001 for the quick response. I am unable to find evidence in the AN guidance or anywhere in the UKVI site as far as I have searched which spells this out. Please, can you ...

Re: English language requirement for Naturalization & Speeding Ticket

Ok, notes on the IELTS SELT B1 test required for settlement or naturalisation: The next B1 test is available is on the 23rd March and I have to travel to Machester, which is a 3.5 hrs journey from where I am at. They will take 13 days to provide the test result. They will only tell me 3 days in prio...

I suggest you take the B1 English test, it's quick and easy (for you I think) and costs about the same as getting your degree certified

declare the speeding ticket
Thanks John. It should be quick and easy. I am really looking at saving 2 hours on a weekday, if that is an option. :-)

English language requirement for Naturalization & Speeding Ticket

Dear IB Team, My background: I got my ILR in Tier 1 General category in January 2016. I used my overseas Master's degree taught in English as evidence for English language requirement. I used Point Based Calculator (defunt now, but used to exist and was accepted then) that listed my degree and unive...

Buying a home in UK

Hi - Can someone recommend a good online discussion forum for buying a property in the UK. I have googled around and have been reading 'property hub' which is certainly a good place to start.

However, are there ones that folk here use/have used and can recommend?

Cheers,
OR

Re: Premium Service Appointment cancelled due to IT Failure

Good job @Amyski04, it does seem to have an impact to get the local MP involved, and it gets traced faster. This is an ongoing problem ever since I applied for my first PEO appointment in Croydon in 2012 and I was affected as well, later received approval and documents via mail after 3 weeks. I am c...

Re: Tier 2 Dependent to Tier 2 General

Most of us know who the well known companies are that sponsor. To be perfectly honest, I don't, except for my company that is listed. This board has 121699 members, and I am not sure what % of that number is "most of us" ? Certainly newbies who are posting in this forum seeking help aren't part of ...

You will need to find a sponsor on the approved HO list. Members are not permitted to name companies on the forum. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers I have almost seen no one (in this online forum) post a success story by looking up that approved spons...

Bugger! One example of why a lot of folk want PM service activated within a few hours of joining the forum. Bah! Businesses fishing for clients. Hmm. CR001 - Not cool to use your power as moderator to edit my earlier post to remove content where I was pointing out that you were recommending OISC advisers and solicitors when my query was about travel insurance. If it was an oversight, why not just admit it and move on ? Why delete specific content...
