Has anyone recently submitted an application for surrendering Indian passport at Birmingham? I did mine on 17/06, and have not heard back so far....I am getting a bit anxious....Please share if you have had any recent experiences with the Birmingham VFS and/or High Commission.

It depends on the nature of the property, location of the letter box and delivery person's assessment of the security of such delivery. If it's a house (not a flat) and the letterbox is at the door (delivers within the house) there is a high possibility that the passports would be delivered without...

British Passport fees

I am about to apply for the 1st British Passport for myself and my family (2 adults and 2 children). I intend not to use the Post Office’s Check & Send Service, but want to send it myself via Special Delivery, as I don’t see the value of the Check & Send service. I am slightly confused about the pay...

Re: Incorrect naturalisation certificate: add to FAQ please?

This seems to be a fairly common question. Would the moderators be OK to add this to the list of FAQs, please? The official procedure, as per the UKBA website, on what to do if there are errors in the naturalisation certificate is as follows: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/06-...

Nope but I'm happy to write one for you: 1. You pick an application form and guide from the post office. 2. You read the guide. 3. You fill in the form. 4. You collect the relevant evidence required according to the guide. 5. You get a countersignatory. 6. You pop into the post office to send the a...

In the British passport the country of birth is not mentioned, whatever that country is. So passport would just show "Cheltenham", whatever the Certificate of Registration says. The application was under section 1(3), so by definition the birth must have been in the UK! So how on earth did someone ...

It will have the same details ..... unless you tell them of their error. I recommend that you do that without delay, so hopefully the Certificate of Registration will be right first time. Many thanks John. That's a fair point. I too am hoping that the certificate does not carry the same error. But ...

The title of this topic refers to Naturalisation, but that is clearly not correct, as children are Registered as British Citizens, not Naturalised. What have you actually received? The Certificate of Registration? Or merely a letter saying that the application has been successful? Hi John, Sorry my...

Incorrect Details on Child's Registration Approval

The citizenship approval letter from the HO for my UK born 3 year old child has a mistake in the Place of birth. It says – ‘Place of Birth: - Cheltenham, India’, instead of ‘Cheltenham, UK’. This inspite of the fact that they had the child’s birth certificate that clearly says that the child was bor...
