Expense reimbursements can't be counted towards earnings you are claiming as they aren't income - they're, well, reimbursements! If your accountant explains what is going on in their letter, I would have thought that it would be the best way forward. You can't alter the past for a start and also it ...

Fair play to your accountant if s/he has somehow managed to file the P14/P35 for you already; it ma...

It may be worth double checking with your accountant then as you can't actually file P60s for 2011-12 yet as the end of the tax year isn't until tomorrow (5th). As a control, HMRC won't let you attempt to file online as of today (4th) and you can no longer file on paper unless you fall into a very n...

It's highly unlikely that HMRC will give you notice to file one nks plus legally there would be no requirement to do so from what you say above (unless of course HMRC tell you that you have to via a Notice).

You can get your accountant to note down in their letter that the tax on any self employment profits would not be due until 31/1/14 (and a return couldn't be filed until after 6/4/13). You would like to think that the caseworkers would be aware of this but it's probably an idea to cover all bases fo...

If you are claiming earnings for profits retained in the business then you would have to send in a set of accounts. Otherwise I would see it as superfluous (if you are just claiming salary and dividend) ..... but I am taking a theoretical approach here so if anyone has any anecdotal evidence to the ...

If what you get from clients are basically the invoice with some signature from them then I'd struggle to see why they couldn't be sent; however most peopl...

Your accountant could also supply their registration details on the letter for you. The effect of this is just to save time for UKBA however and, as mentioned above, there are resources available for UKBA to check credentials if they wish to do so.

Draft a set of accounts covering the earnings period.

These will not be submitted to either Companies House or HMRC but would be for presentation to the UKBA.

Personally I'd go for a service that offers a paper certificate. Even away from any UKBA factors, you'll likely need the certificate for opening a bank account. Again in my opinion, there's no real need for spending a huge amount of money on an all singing all dancing package where many features can...

However, I have all the payslips I have been paid during the period I am calming and the amount on Payslips matches with Bank statements. That, to me, is the key part of your post. You are backing up what you are claiming with documentary evidence. That documentary evidence is then matching up to a...

My reasoning is that you are still taking a salary, you are claiming the salary and can prove that with regards to a payment being made to your b...
