Re: thank you Gyfrinachgar

so it is safe to say, if i wait another 2 years which is 5 years in total. the conviction will have no impact on my application any more , that is cool Yes, personally, I would advise waiting until it is 5 years in the past, then you can be pretty sure that the conviction will have no impact on you...

Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 2012 >1 year: you conviction spent <3 years: cause refusal >3 years: not cause refusal Firstly, there is no such thing as a "Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 2012". You probably refer to the "Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012"? Secondly, where...

BTW: what do you really mean if you say "illegitimate"? I thought the legitimacy would still be intact even if you are not married. I think you confuse illegitimate with illegal. In any case, there are numerous definitions and uses for legitimate: not only legally, but also politically, philosophic...

Re: thank you Gyfrinachgar

If you look at the wording, all they changed was basically to introduce more room for discretion. Okay, let me put things as simply as I can. Your assault conviction will... under the old regulations: <5 years: cause refusal >5 years: not cause refusal (conviction spent) under the new regulations: <...

Re: Thanks for reply

I understand common assault is a serious thing, but on the new rule , it clearly states that for non-prison conviction , you only need to wait 3 years, and u can apply. I agree that let it Seattle for a while is a good idea, but there is no specific guideline how what happen if applicant was wait f...

Hi all my question is on the requirement of referee who have known you MORE than 3 years. I have been here exactly 3 years so people here only have known me for just 3 years, what is meant by more, how long is that more. 3 years and a month, or 3 years an one days?! Exactly 3 years will do just fin...

Re: Using same pics for nationality and passport

FYI - for my appllication, used pics that were 2-3 yrs old and I got away with it. Have had my interview and am waiting for my passport. I think in practice it is not so much about the age (I agree, few faces change change enough within a year or two for the HO to notice), but more about using the ...

Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

What do you suggest I should do to avoid causing concern and delaying the application? Several possible approaches. If you maintained an address in the UK all the time, just use that. If your absences are below the thresholds (which they appear to be), that is all there is to it. If you did not mai...

The obvious difference I can think of now was the colour. Hers was sort of white ish in colour. However, she said that she never had to attend a ceremony but rather sign a letter sent to her in a post with an oath on. Interesting ! The certificate sounds like mine. What colour is yours then? Old-school, eh? ;)
I see no reason why not. The public office in Liverpool accepts them. Since it is a perfectly valid form of payment anyway, it should be accepted without any problems by HO.

My aunt received hers about 12 years ago and since then she hasn't found a reason to take it out. Of course, she took it out to compare when I received mine. Re: After getting the British Passport

Naturalisation certificate is the proof that you are a British Citizen. Passport is only a travel document. Please please don't lose your certificate. However, you do not need to carry the certificate while traveling. That is certainly true, and very good advice. In theory, the certificate of natur...

Hi Folks, Does anyone used an AN form printed both side ? Is that acceptable ?? I don't think that it is formally forbidden (wouldn't rule it out, though), but why would you do that? Re: Reason for Abscence for naturalisation application

1. In section 1.17 of form AN where you mention about pervious addresses of last 5 years, do I need to mention my Pakistani address? Yes, if you have holes in your past-addresses list, that would cause concern and delay your application substantially. Just list where you have lived, regardless whet...
